Race Format

There are 3 categories of racing for the racer in YOU!
  1. School Challenge
  2. College Challenge
  3. Corporate Challenge


School Challenge:

  • Based on the form filled up at your school or a registration done by you online, you need to carry the tear-off (incase you have filled up the form at your school) or the unique ID received by your over mail along with the indemnity form only signed by your guardian (incase you have filled up the form online). Please carry with you 2 passport size pictures along with proof of age and school ID and present to the registration counter at the track by 8:00 AM on Saturday. Please remember only the 1st 300 entries at the track will be entertained.
  • You will be provided with a qualification slot and called by the technical team to do your qualifying session
  • Qualification runs of 5 laps for each entrant will be given on the Saturday of the event.
  • Qualifying on first-come-first-serve basis for the first 300 who appear at the track and register at the registration counter along with your registration number as appears on your form.
  • Each driver has to pay Rs 250 for acquiring racing license. This is payable to FMSCI and not to the organizers or sponsors.
  • Racing license can be obtained by making the payment at the track itself. Only cash payments are accepted.
  • 300 of you will be provided with the Amaron Karting Challenge karts to do your qualifying 5 laps·
  • The fastest 64 out of the total entries received will qualify for the Heats.
  • The fastest 64 will be batched into 8 batches with 8 karters in each batch.
  • The starting grid for the 8 preliminary heats is based on the qualifying times.
  • The top 4 of each heat will move into the next round of heats, comprising of 4 batches of 8 karters per batch.
  • There will be 4 heats run in the next round of heats. The top 4 of each of these heats will move into the Semi Finals comprising of 2 batches of 8 karters per batch.
  • The top 4 of each of these two batches will qualify for the Regional Finals.
  • The starting grid for the Final is the finishing order and the lap timing of the semi - finals.



Corporate/College Challenge:

Above 16 and want to try out your hand at racing? Race in groups of a minimum 2 and a maximum 4 and race in the endurance races. Register here or you can also register at the track on Saturday if you still find an empty slot!

Qualifying and race format:

  • Only 40 teams (college and corporate) will be allowed on a first-come-first-serve basis.
  • Each Team must enter a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 per team.
  • Each Team will go by their college name or any name that they choose. Though it should have the college name in it esp. so if there are multiple teams from the same college.
  • You can also form of team of students from different colleges and register under any name you choose
  • Participation fee of Rs 1500 per team for corporates and RS 1000 per team for colleges (whether 2 or 4 drivers)
  • Additionally, each driver has to pay Rs 250 for acquiring racing license. This is payable to FMSCI and not to the organizers or sponsors.

  • College ID or driving license to be shown as proof at the track.
  • The top 30 teams will be batched into groups and sent out for their qualifications. Each team will get 10 minutes of practice. The teams are allowed to send out all their drivers in the free practice sessions
  • Each team will have to nominate 2 drivers for the qualifying who will do the qualifying run. Each driver will get only two Laps for the qualifying run. The aggregate time of both the drivers put together will be the qualifying time taken for selecting the fastest teams to qualify for the event. (an announcement will be made before the qualifying sessions on the number of teams that will make it to the finals)
  • Practice sessions and qualifying runs will be on the Saturday of the event as per the prog sheet
  • The karts will be issued based on lots for the practice and the same karts will be used by the teams for the qualifying session.
  • The endurance will be of 20 minutes
  • Each driver can drive for a min of 1 minute and a max of 5 minute 59 seconds and sign the register.
  • Overshooting the time limit will mean a penalty of 3 minutes added to the total time.
  • All drivers must drive a single stint for at least 1 minute.
  • Any driver not coming in within the 18th minute will get black flagged and the team will be disqualified.
  • No tyre changing permitted.
  • Refueling permitted in an allocated zone only.
  • The team that crosses the line at the chequered flag at the end of the 20th minute and having done the most number of laps will be declared the winner.
  • Drivers posting competitive lap times get an automatic berth into the Final shootout for the VW POLO CUP 2011.
  • The top 3 teams of each regional round will be crowned the city champs and will be awarded team trophies and certificates.
