Mobile phone connectivity a pain..........???
Mobile phones....a boon or a pain...?? Well a question that lingers all the the time...No doubt..it's one of the greatest inventions....but do dropped calls...low connectivity (read No connectivity) and the pain of having to answer unsolicited marketing calls spoil all the fun and charm....?? Ofcourse....!! and what do you do about it...? Well the TRAI blames it on the Wireless Planning and Co-ordination Wing...who in turn throws it's hands in the air expressing it's helplesness in being able to do anything unless it gets back some more spectrum from the MoD or the other agencies....?? And then on the other hand the telecom operators who whine all day long about the civic hassles and the lack of support and permissions from the Government and other agencies in getting permissions to set up base stations. And in all these...the sufferers...??? the users who have no where to....
BACK TO THE BASICS.....!!!!
Back to basics....well that's what I want to call my visit to Mood-Indigo, the annual college festival of the IIT-Mumbai. Fun, Excitement....and sheer thrill.....well that's what greeted me on my visit to this institute.......just the mention of which sends chills down the spine of ardent scholars.... But well the mood this time was different, well atleast for this week long fest. Scholars, generally bundled around tall books and special "inventions" could be seen swooning to the tunes of 'Kajra re' and other popular numbers.....Others were participants from other colleges all of them excited of the very fact that there were in the campus of the much fabled INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY. Quite a difference though from the college days and "crowd" of a few years back was the clear focus...besides the ideas floating the rounds....and ofcourse the chirpy youthfulness...well.....there clearly was a sense of frankness....a level of maturity....
Love in the time of small Spaces......
The question of privacy in today's time is a very important one. With space a constraint in most of the places...it's a question of privacy coupled with the dilemma of intimacy that faces most married couples as well as the non-married ones. The question that comes by then is of the yearning of individuals to some private knowing each other a little more. Look around us…isn’t there a sudden increase in the divorce rates....families falling apart...hate...mistrust...weren’t marriages supposed to last forever…??? Well all of these could very well be a fall-out of a lack of communication between partners….a dearth of time to spend with each other…..and in that case...is it really a crime to spend some private moments in a park....away from crying babies....peeking cousins...inquisitive parents or even the monotony of the four walls that surround our homes??? Not at least the way the Meerut police handled....
