PTC's & Dida
PTC - Piece To Camera (when a reporter comes on screen either at the beginning, middle or end of the story) Dida - grandmother in bengali. Though it may sound that there is no big connection between the two. But for me, one was always the reason for the other. I consider myself a news junkie and my day starts and ends with atleast 2-2 hours of news everyday. On my tv set from no1 to no12 its news channels only...international,national and regional ones. Now my room mates also have got used to it and they know its better to give up the remote control whenever I am watching tv. What I have observed is that that most of the time, most of the PTC's are forced into the stories. I agree that sometimes they really say many things that cant be put in voiceovers and do....
Aamir, Salman & John
Aamir,Salman & John....no, they have not been cast together in any of the blockbusters so far. But they are really doing something what no one has done before. Never have so many bollywood actors made so much news in just few days and that too without talking about their films. All making headlines and all because of the C factor. "C"elebrity endorsement has always proved what celebs can do for a product but this time the C factor showed something else.....what celebs can really do if they want, what celebs should not do even if they want to do and what can be done to them even if they have not done anything. Aamir Khan. I don't know much about him. And how can I, when he thinks media has become one of the most corrupted institutions, it has become a lapdog, monster and what not. Few....
Hide & Seek
I have never understood this. Every celebrity loves to hide their private life, more so if its colourful too.Be it politicians, cricketers, filmstars or even high profile criminals. But filmmakers? They love to hide facts about their new films. BUT Why ? These days ask any big filmmaker what they are upto next? The typical answer is.....its too early to comment or still finalising the right cast or dont know. And for the stars the new fashionable answer is....I am under contract. So,cant give out any details. But you know that the film is already on the floors. (Thank God "ye zara hatke hai" reply is going out of fashion now.) I also tried hard to understand the whole situation but so far have come out with only two conclusions.....1)Either there are no real STORIES to hide.Films like Bunty aur Babli, Salaam Namaste,Neal N Nikki or 2)The stories are direct....
