For Sale: Football Air
The credit for this blog entry entirely is Amitava Kumar's. Had I not read his blog, this bit about Chinese capitalism would have gone unnoticed. Li Jie, the CEO of the former 'Lunar Embassy in China,' whose license was revoked for selling plots of land on the moon, has "gathered" air from German stadia hosting World Cup matches for sale in China. The tournament is almost over. 2 more matches to go but this business bit from behind the bamboo curtain is one to be treasured. He had received about 25 bags. Don't know if the bags have been sold out. Last heard, Beijing Municipal Administration was saying that air cannot be sold. Should Delhi take a hint during the Commonwealth Games and start selling Commonwealth air? ....
