The Commissioner I know lives in the by-lanes of Karol Bagh's auto market. Where Indian, Korean, Japanese, American and European cars are customised with Chinese accessories by Indian mechanics. This is also the place where the Dilliwala's buy their neighborhood peace shattering boom boxes. The Commissioner sells mini cola drinks and bottled water to customers and prospective customers who throng the market. He also doubles up as a mechanic fixing dented car bumpers. I have not asked him his real name. All I know is this his physical disability (he can't see in one eye) earned him some real mean names. One day one Pinkiji took pity and renamed him Commissioner. One night laborers at a building had a nasty fight. The Commissioner intervened and got roughed up. He dialed 100. Commissioner: " There is a fight here in gali no .... Karol Bagh" Police....
