In one of my earlier blogs, In search of Indianness abroad, I strongly felt that people like me, who are residing abroad, have a great responsibility to show our motherland in a brighter light, to showcase the positive side of India and to abstain from ridiculing our own country in front of "Indian aliens". Unfortunately, there are NRIs who just love to go the other way, as that might help them in stepping the ladder of success in lesser time. Part of the younger generation coming to Western countries is completely blinded by the vices prevalent in those countries and tries to imitate the Westerners to find a foothold in the alien world. To make things clear, not all of us living abroad are like that. However, there is still a sizable chunk that has a tendency to accept the western "bold" culture much....

Whatever It Takes

December 2006 marked the anniversary of a news channel that has done "whatever it takes" to ensure that Indian citizens and netizens alike are not deprived of quality and professional journalism. No one is perfect and though there will be people who would argue scope of improvement for Rajdeep and his team of distinguished journalists, the heights reached by the channel in mere one year's time is simply commendable. Celebrating the anniversary in style, I have penned down a poem with the punch line "Whatever it takes". Now, no guesses for identifying the punch line "Whatever it takes". Join me in congratulating CNN-IBN for a successful year and hope to expect quality journalism in coming years. Whatever it takes, the famous CNN-IBN punch line,
