Riot politics and Madhya Pradesh
Hindus' and 'Muslims' have come out in large numbers within striking distance of each other at least five times in different parts of Madhya Pradesh in the past fortnight. No train was burnt nor any Masjid demolished so why this ruckus on the streets? Conversely what would have these people done had anything of even little consequence happened before they took out their swords and daggers? Section 144 would have surely not sufficed. Nor would have water cannons and tear gas shells been of any help. Those out on the streets did not in any way represent the entire Hindu or Muslim communities but merely belonged to them. Sadly no one can dare disown them. The timing is, however, significant. The 'Hindu Awakening Sammellans' organized to mark the birth centenary celebrations of Guru Golvalkar somehow coincided with Moharram. And it was by design. The initial laboratory tests to....
