The wonder of wonders

Choice, I tell you, is a bad thing. Give people too many choices and you will never get a clear mandate. Look at our political scenario for instance: if ideology-less party alliances weren't enough - sleeping with the enemy gets whole new connotations - now we can't even decide who we want as our President. And to think that the 'apolitical' President of India would become a political issue; that too, on the Internet. And that's not all. While the Vote for your President debate is on, elsewhere, there is a vote war of a different kind: the 7 Wonders war. And the war's not about WHO makes it to the Wondrous List either. If you and me have declared that what these serials portray is trash and not how 'real India' is... why are people watching them? Almost all stories on the Death of Tulsi mention how the character portrayed by actress Smriti Irani was far removed from "what happens in real India" and is a stereotype of the 'typical, Indian housewife'. But erm, aren't these soaps meant for the housewives? And really, what DOES happen in real India? Agreed that maybe you and I don't wear....
