The Bottle of Kunming...the one we lost!
(In the fourth installment of Blogs from Beijing, we take you to Kunming, China's "City of Eternal Spring." It was here that the Battle...err...Bottle of Kunming was waged - a battle we lost!) Kunming, the gateway to the ancient silk route, Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province in southern China was one of the most interesting cities on our itinerary. The "City of Eternal Spring" surely did live up to the expectations. Its pleasant weather, especially after a humid Beijing, appealed to all of us. After the grand welcome at the airport by Kunming beauties, we were all rejuvenated.

The Great Wall of China: Getting a little painful but getting there
In the third installment of the 10-part video blog series, we visit the Great Wall of China. About the journey and much more: CLIMBING THE WALL Climbing the world's longest wall was quite an experience. Stretching over approximately 6,400 km, the Great Wall of China is quite inspiring. I thought the walk would be a touristy one, a bit on the easier side, but the 45 degrees climb was not a cakewalk. The camera equipment that I was carrying made it even more difficult. I made it to the tower on the hill with great difficulty. Too bad I did not have the time to get the 'I Climbed the Great Wall' certificate. Most of the people who went with me are probably displaying it. Okay, now that I have seen the Taj Mahal and the Great Wall of China, its just 5....
Chinese Campus: Of pop music, pretty women and play ball!
In the second installment of the 10-part video blog series, we visit the Tsinghua University. Here's all the campus buzz and much more: OFF TO THE UNIV It was our second day and the very first visit to a Chinese university. We were excited at the prospect of interaction and debate with the students there. I really thought I would get a great story. A story from inside a sort of insiders look at the Chinese student life. Sadly, that was not to be. We were herded like cattle and wandered about like tourists across the campus.
