Citizen Journos, WikiTV, CNN IBN and the neo communists Should journalists fear for their jobs? After all what is it that we do? Well, for one, we hang around outside a courtroom waiting for a decision to come and then talk to the lawyers who represented the two sides and then maybe give some information on the case, its background etc. Hey, we also bring in some of the bias and color that we all inherently have and have a tough time getting rid of. Show me someone who does not have a bias! (Read Blink! By Malcolm Gladwell). Or maybe we rush at breakneck speeds to an accident site or a conflict site and try and get the shots on air first, and there are times we lose the race when another channel already has the footage on air. So what makes us special? Will....
The Sky Road
This is a tribute to the frontier road builders of India. And this is a tribute to the unity that makes India. A road that puts the fear of the Lord in your hearts. Brings about mad panic attacks when you don't know what you can possibly do to save yourself from plunging several hundred feet off an edgeless road into the abyss below. A road that makes you want to walk rather than sit helplessly in a vehicle. A road that makes you think of disc brakes and studded tyres. A road built by Jharkhand. There are thousands from Jharkhand, men, women and families huddled under dangerous rock shelters, sitting it out when a storm of rocks slides over their head and down into the raging Satluj and Spiti rivers, these are the people who connect India's remote Northern Frontiers. They are the road builders....

Jyoti Kamal has now seen the constant swing of human enterprise and the shifting mosaic of human behavior as a journalist for over 11 years. From print media to electronic media its been a journey seeking answers to an ever increasing number of questions and the quest remains far from being anywhere near fulfilled. On this journey there have been countless incidents where journalism has snapped eyes open wide. From being part of the academic environment at MICA to the beginning of professional journalism with The Times of India, moving on to The Indian Express and then the launch of The Economic Times in Chandigarh and on to the diverse platforms of Network 18 and being a part of the IBN launch team, exposure to information mediation has been intense.
