BJP sure of repeating Assembly success

Success in electoral politics is often fathered by circumstances of which psephologists and political pundits can make some sense only once the coronation is complete. From the BJP victory in the recent Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections emerged a new star with his down-to-earth image - Shivraj Singh Chauhan. The hype built around his success soon got converted into a phenomenon called Chaahan and his developmental agenda has now become a mantra for future electoral success. At least the BJP strategists think so. The BJP got into election mode much before the November 2008 Assembly Elections were announced and still continues to be in that mode. The strategy was to remind the electorate of 10 years of Digvijay Singh misrule and compare it with the developmental works undertaken by Chauhan. It paid rich dividends and Chauhan rode back to power. But will this work the second time around? There....
