A Sai Student

A counter argument to the article above--

A personal experience changes everything-- Your original impression and your assumed conclusion. And many times u realise how totally wrong you were and how rumours and looks

can be totally deceptive..

After reading Vir Sanghvi's article on Sathya Sai Baba in the Hindustan Times, that was what flashed in my head..

I studied in Puttaparthi from my 4th standard right upto my graduation...And what I learned

from my experience there, was that Swami's greatest miracle is not the creation of an Omega

watch or sacred ash...It is the transformation that He can bring about in thousands of

people by His actions...

I was fortunate enough to take part in the yearly grama seva (village service) which happens

in Puttaparthi during Swami's birthday...This generally takes place during our winter

vacations. To participate in this activity meant foregoing the holidays..And every single

student and staff in the Sai institute- from the first standard student in primary school

to the oldest teacher stayed on in Puttaparthi...I wonder if there is any hostel in

the world where teenage boys and girls forego television and movies to do service for

villagers.Let me see PC Sarkar trick so many young minds..If he succeeds, India will

be a better place.

Visit any country in the world, and make a trip to the Sai centre there..Ask the devotees

what they gain out of going to the Sai centre to sing bhajans on a Sunday...Or ask the

volunteers in a medical camp organised by the Sai centre how much money they get out of it..

Ask a Japanese devotee, or an American devotee in Puttaparthi why he/she spent so much money

coming to a remote corner of India. If it was to see a magician, I'm sure they would find one in their own country...I myself find Criss Angel quite fascinating...A great magician- He can climb walls and turn coke into cockroaches...

As a student I celebrated Eid, Christmas, Dusshera and Chinese New Year with the same

enthusiasm..As did every other student there..As will anybody who visits Parthi during the

festivals...

The only subject which every student right from class one to the highest degree offered in the Sri Sathya Sai Institute studies, is Human Values...And what do we study in it- Love all & Serve all, Help Ever & Hurt Never, Sathyam Vada, Dharmam Chara(Speak the truth and follow righteousness)...Simple morals..But I centainly believe I am a better person today because of it...

Instead of typing random words on google, and trying to find information, peep into the

Super Speciality hospitals in Bangalore or Puttaparthi.. Speak to some of the people who

have been treated there..

Or visit one of the villages where the Sai water Project quenched the thirst of parched

throats..

And if building hospitals, giving free education and distributing food and water is not

'public good', I wonder what is..

Vir Sanghvi says that there are thousands of allegations against Swami ...And obviously

those many people cant be liars..

Well, a trip to Parthi during Swami's Birthday, and you can see many more than those

thousands..So what attracts all these people to a tiny village? Well, if by staying in a

small hamlet, a magician could draw such crowds, our villages should be teeming with them..

For that matter, I wonder why PC sarkar keeps going from one place to another...

Also Sanghvi says that the allegations are constantly increasing... So logically ,the crowds in Puttaparthi should be decreasing right? Well, the mandir has witnessed several

expansion plans, yet it seems small for the ever increasing number of devotees...

And just another small point-- if PC Sarkar is such a great magician/God, why should pressure from any lobby affect Him?

Perhaps before writing " The Truth About Sathya Sai Baba",Sir, you should visit Him...
