Nitish: Hopping on the Lalu bandwagon?

Nitish Kumar taking a cycle rickshaw ride down the streets of Patna was a photo-op which immediately grabbed headlines everywhere. But for me, as a journalist covering Bihar and Bihari politicians for more than 10 years, it came as a bit of a shock. Nitish, in contrast, is seen as a sober, polished politician, who conducts himself more like a bureaucrat. Ever since I have known Nitish Kumar, I have seen him behaving more like a corporate CEO, a man who is a silent worker, one who always maintains a certain level of dignity even in politics, who weighs every word before speaking and never resorts to any gimmickry.
