Tips to book a ‘Tour Package’

10IBNLive IBNLive Google Buzz

Holiday season is ahead and there is nothing better than to pack your bags and move out at a place of your interest to chill out and rejuvenate yourself. Planning a holiday is a complex exercise involving numerous jobs. And, needless to mention - closing your travel/hotel bookings is the most cumbersome, time consuming and important of all. One has two options for travel and hotel bookings. Either you do your own travel arrangements, book your hotels/cars and fix your own itinerary or go for a Tour Package, which is basically a ready-to-eat dish. In today's fast and busy work, Package Tour is not a bad idea at all. There are scores of travel agencies and websites, which offer Tour Packages to most destinations. However, a Tour Package is also not that easy as it looks. One needs to be very careful and vigilant while deciding on and....

Teaching English to China!

10IBNLive IBNLive Google Buzz

India and China are often talked about as the strongest emerging economies and future superpowers of the world. These two countries are often discussed, debated, argued and compared on various benchmarks. While China is considered stronger in terms of its unbelievably huge manufacturing capabilities, better infrastructure support, quicker Government action and sheer commitment to grow; India's stronger capabilities and dominance in services sector gives it a very clear edge over China. India's capabilities in service sector, and more precisely in IT and IT enabled services (BPO, KPO etc.) are surely an obvious and strong edge over China. If we go a step further - the better capabilities of India in services sector can be (mainly) attributed to English speaking and writing capabilities of the Indians, which is clearly missing in China. China clearly recognizes its weakness on this front, and is working very hard....

A Sunday Morning

10IBNLive IBNLive Google Buzz

On a lovely Sunday morning, when I was enjoying my Hot Tea served with newspaper full of crispy breaking news - a sound from the street, instantly, reminded me of a job, which was long due for a holiday. "Kabariwala" (junk dealer) the voice said. Though with the morning sleepiness, I was little reluctant to get up and do the job - but the quick remembrance of the piling heap of papers in my rack, on my table and even on my bed left me with no choice but to get up and call him. "Bhaiya, English paper - What rate?" I asked with a deep yawn. "Rupees 6.00 per kilo" he replied with a better sense of enthusiasm mixed with expectation of morning business. "Arey! Everyone takes at 6.50" I could not resist my inherent bargaining nerve. "Ok, only for you" he replied with a mild....

Indian stock markets are vrooming & zooming high and touching new levels every day. The bar is climbing higher and higher - breaking all past records - and surprising everyone on the street. Surpassing all previous records, the BSE sensex registered its quickest 1,000 point rally in just four trading sessions and crossed the 19,000 mark. Overall the BSE Sensex has zoomed more than 5,000 points in less than two months and it is now around 48% above its level a year ago. Ah! Chak Diya! India

4IBNLive IBNLive Google Buzz

September 24th, 2007 - a golden day in the history of Indian Cricket. Truly, a momentous day with memories worth cherishing for ever and ever. After all, it is not for a small cause - India, yes our India won the Twenty-Twenty Cricket World Cup! That too; in a splendid style, with magnificent degree of passion & team effort, amidst unbelievable nail biting excitement - and not to forget - a fantastic victory against our arch-rival Pakistan. Nothing could have been as exciting as India-Pakistan landing in the finals. It was a match one, just, could not afford to miss. The pre-match excitement was, really, on. Right from the toss; every moment had its own charm. It was a lovely game of cricket with a degree of anxiety and excitement unseen and unfelt for years - A hearty cheer & annoyance, shaky legs, shivering body, a pumping heart as fast....

Letter to the Supreme Court

4IBNLive IBNLive Google Buzz

Sanjay Dutt, the famous bollywood star, hit the headlines in the recent past for the reasons known to all and, perhaps, requires no further elaborations at this stage. Many arguments flew for and against the sentence of Sanju Baba. Few argued that the law should treat everyone on the equal footing and if someone has committed a mistake, he needs to be reasonably punished. Others had the soft corner with the argument that Munnabhai has suffered a lot in the past, which is enough as the punishment he deserved and there is no question of further imprisonment or punishment. Hey, hold on! I am not trying to build up another forum to discuss whether Sanjay Dutt should be punished or not. Yes, definitely I buy the idea that judiciary has to be unbiased while forming any judgement and - reportedly - there were enough evidences to....

If you look at a Delhi Map - you will find two a big circles with various spokes around and most can figure out - that one of them is famous India Gate roundabout and other is the most happening shopping center & hanging-out joint of Delhi i.e. Connaught Place. Thought this place was officially renamed as Rajeev Chowk around a decade back, but most of the people still know this place with its ever favorite name - Connaught Place or rather more famously as CP. CP is always known as a famous business & shopping center of Delhi but - notably - it also has a long and distinguished history behind it. Named after the Duke of Connaught, a member of the British royal family, this market was built in early 1930s. Designed by Robert Tor Russell (then Chief Architect of the Government of India); its beautiful....

Life 'Beyond' Work

19IBNLive IBNLive Google Buzz

The clocked ticked 6'o clock and, one of these days, I arranged my desk, packed up my bag, got up from my seat and started walking towards the exit gate of my office. Though I tried my best but could not avoid the attention of the people around. Actually, how could I have? - (except for being 'Mr. India') - with me sitting almost towards the end, making me cross the entire office before reaching the door. My colleagues started staring at me with multiple face expressions & one thousand questions on their faces - and in the end one of them could not resist asking "Hey! Half day today?" "Half day? It is 6'o clock dear. Time to go home as per our office hours and I have some work also outside". "Oh! I never knew this!" she answered sarcastically with a witty smile on....

What if I HIT Someone?

10IBNLive IBNLive Google Buzz

"Man thrashed to death in road rage, Bikers Smash Victim's Head with Flower Pot" This is the news, which made headline in many newspapers in one of the recent days. In a really gruesome, cruel, shocking and almost unbelievable incident - a young man was beaten to death by five motorcyclists on a Delhi road. Why" The victim had, reportedly, 'brushed' the motorcycle of the assailants while driving his car. The incident happened in night (at around 10:30 in the night); though not too late with the city standards. The reason for the provocation (as reported and known as of now) was very little - but the consequence was most unfortunate. In an entire 15 minutes episode; a single man was (naturally) overpowered by a brigade of five angry young men and his life was, cold bloodedly, taken away - leaving his family in a complete turmoil &....
