The FM is not for small and medium enterprises. Fringe Benefit Tax, now service tax on custom software development hike on ED for Packaged Software is all bad. Rather than encouraging people to use software he is discouraging people from using software. Software well used can result in so much resource of the country being saved than being wasted. I do not understand the logic behind ED and service tax on software. When you want to encourage somebody using software I guess you will not levy taxes. The FBT has never made any sense to me at all. The FM has ensured that Congress will not be popular in spite of his presumed popularity.
