Can we ever have a new 'Sam' again?

A man of dignified presence, a legend in military history, an icon for all those who served with him, an epitome of successful leadership, a stature every man would dream to attain and yet very few can come close to. The list of such gigantesque adjectives could go on and on. This to describe one of the finest military leaders our country has ever produced. Field Marshal Sam Hormusji Framji Jamshedji Manekshaw. Fondly known as 'Sam Bahadur', Manekshaw lived the life of an exemplary leader but was lately forgotten in the deep. Friday, the 27th of June 2008, saw the end of a hero and his legacy. But how does it matter to India??? In fact how many of us remembered this great man and his achievements until the news of his demise dawned? A man who is termed as the architect of India's victory in the 1971 war.....
