Wrong!!

7IBNLive IBNLive Google Buzz

" Yeh galat hai " this is wrong!! When was the last time you heard or made this statement?? Well, I am sure you must have heard it quit often from your boss or your parents but that's not what I meant. We do react this way quit often then we realize. You would feel this way while you are driving or standing in que when some one cut's you off or while reading or watching news where there are stories of gross injustice done which sadly happens almost everyday. I am sure some of you did light a candle and joined a protest. Some of us debate at home whether the students protesting reservation are right or wrong. Watching a child working or begging feels wrong, coming back after a day's hard work to a home with no electricity feels wrong. Watching an animal dying on the road....

Monsters under my bed!!

10IBNLive IBNLive Google Buzz

Fear in our lives never end but the ones we carry from childhood are the harder ones to get rid of. What's my fear... well I am petrified of spiders " Arachnophobia " as they say... but I also had the most common fear of all... monsters under my bed. I don't know why but almost every kid has this imagination. Its funny nobody really talks about it. So many common childhood fears that carried on from generations and never got lost. Maybe something's are best learnt the hard way. I think the best visualisers are the kids. There imagination is so amazing. It can travel around the world and beyond. There imagination has the purity of the saints and mischief of the devils. I am sure they even see lots of colours in the most ordinary things we fail to notice. But....

Life Management!!

3IBNLive IBNLive Google Buzz

There was this film I have been meaning to watch for a long time and finally I bought its CD and watched it. The film's called Bluff Master. Pretty decent film a bit " Hutke " I could say. Anyway's There is this situation in the film where Abhishek Bachchan is duped into believing that he is dying and has only three months to live and he understandably gets upset. His doctor played by Bomen Irani tries to cheer him up and says, "Why don't you live up these 3months, Life is about moments. How many happy or special moments can you recall in your life??" We all must have our fare share of few beautiful moments that no matter where we are or what we are going through; brings a smile on our face. Makes you think how many of these moments can we....

Belief.....

7IBNLive IBNLive Google Buzz

It's an old story I am sure you all would have read it. I just felt like pondering over it again. As I was passing the elephants, I suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. No chains, no cages. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from their bonds but for some reason, they did not. I saw a trainer near by and asked why these beautiful, magnificent animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away. "Well," he said, "when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it's enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They....

Brooding!!!

8IBNLive IBNLive Google Buzz

They say the shortest distance between two points is a straight line. Anyone who's been to Mumbai will disagree with it. I have been to Mumbai on a couple of occasions haven't really traveled that extensively though but have traveled enough and seen people around me who spend 4 hours every day on the road just to reach office and back. For me that's four unconstructive hours wasted of your life daily. My brother in law lives in the suburbs and travels to town for work daily. The only time he gets to spend time with his children is in the weekends. So pretty much he watches his kids grow either in pictures or the weekends. And sadly this has become an accepted way of life. Why just Mumbai I guess that's how life has become for the most of us. Though my home is 25 minutes away from work....

Something we should relate to....

A mouse looked through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife open a package. "What food might this contain?" The mouse wondered - he was devastated to discover it was a mousetrap. Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed the warning: "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!" The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said, "Mr. Mouse, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me. I cannot be bothered by it." The mouse turned to the pig and told him, "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!" The pig sympathized, but said, "I am so very sorry, Mr. Mouse, but there is nothing I can do about it but pray Be assured you....

The Birds, which flew with flu

7IBNLive IBNLive Google Buzz

Well though I understand it's a dangerous situation facing us. Fear of epidemic or the despair of not being able to eat those delicious butter chickens or kebabs. One thing I have understood being a vegetarian once that I really shouldn't feel guilty about eating non vegetarian food anymore coz the it's the destiny of the poor chicken to get slaughtered. Either they are now getting killed for the suspicion of being infected with the flue or they are now being preserved to be slaughtered later. And not to forget the poor bakra's who will now become the favorites of the die-hard non-veggies. As my heart goes out to the poor birds I also pray for the consumers for good health. ....

Love ‘The Money’

6IBNLive IBNLive Google Buzz

Though there are many legends about the St. Valentine. All of them do confirm one thing though that he was a Priest full of love who served during the third century in Rome. Man!! wouldn't he be a very rich man only if he had patented his name. 14 February is that time of the year when suddenly boys and girls decide it's mandatory to express love. Like most of the things in life 'romance' especially on this day costs a lot of money. Whatever happened to writing letters, poetry or recording each other's romantic songs on a tape or a CD? Maybe that doest happen anymore coz everything is pre packaged to suit your convenience or pocket. Whether its your girlfriend or wife, its almost as if you are expected to celebrate this day. Has life become so artificial that we have to wait for certain days to....

License to kill!!

9IBNLive IBNLive Google Buzz

Regarding the front-page news in the newspapers today about three young executives charred to death in an accident with a truck in the wee hours of the morning. They may have been drunk or driving rash but the fact that the truck was coming from the wrong side caused the accident. I have already lost two friends by trucks and a couple of days back another friend had a miraculous escape as his car was crushed by a truck. Most of these reports are carried out in the papers where either the driver of the truck/bus have escaped or even when arrested there are usually no follow ups as to what happens to them. Maybe because we have gotten so used to accidents on roads that its become a " Hota Hai " mentality of Delhi citizens. Do the concerned authorities before handing over the keys of the big machines....
