Congress will win all 7 seats in Delhi

For me this Lok Sabha election is all about continuity and more stability. The Congress-led UPA government at the Centre has been a success. Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and the UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi have performed their duties very well and I have no doubt that the people of India will once again vote for the Congress-led UPA. Let me now talk about my state Delhi. I know that I am the chief minister of a small state. Delhi has just seven Lok Sabha seats. Although seven is a very small number in national politics, it matters in this era of coalition politics and fractured mandates. Delhi has evolved as a true cosmopolitan city in the last 15 years. People from every corner of India have made Delhi their home. I wouldn't be wrong if I say that Delhi is a real melting pot. Anybody can come....

More about Sheila Dikshit

Sheila Dikshit has the record of being the country’s only woman Chief Minister to have been elected for three successive terms. As president of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee, she led her party to victory in the 1998 Assembly elections. She won her first Lok Sabha election from Kannauj in 1984 and was also a minister in the Rajiv Gandhi government at the Centre. A post-graduate in English Literature from Delhi University, she is also the recipient of an honorary doctorate from the University of Delhi. Easygoing and accessible, she enjoys reading and is an avid movie buff. Her son Sandeep Dikshit is a Congress MP from East Delhi.
