Hope, Haiti and You

My heart sinks as BBC shows an image of a timid little girl, no older than 5 being pulled out of the rubble. Her eyes desperately search for a familiar face, defying starvation and dehydration, hoping to be reunited with her mother. Tears well up in my eyes. Her mother, like other mothers with missing toddlers, frantically calls out her name, crying amidst that agony, stumbling upon lifeless bodies, going back into the destruction site against the warnings of the rescue workers, for a possible glimpse of her precious child. Her hope is alive and she is going to defy Mother Nature's wrath and search for her little angel. A daughter in the United States is hoping that her parents are simply too busy to contact her from Haiti. Her parents are part of the Lumiere Medical Mission to support victims of the quake outside of Port-au-Prince. Touching....
