Fidelity is NOT a disorder.
Let's not use Darwinism to justify something that goes against Darwin's principles in action. Biological determinists claimed that male fidelity is an evolutionary impossibility. However, this idea is now widely discredited. There is a reason chimpanzees are not ruling the world. Human evolutionary success is determined by the number of young that survive to maturity, not the number of sperm expended in conceiving them. This makes familial nurturing our biological imperative, as opposed to the much-advertised 'sowing of wild oats'. Monogamy is not simply a prudish ideal. Rather, it is a social contract that reduces sexual competition and leads to stability and democracy. Monogamy also ensures that as society becomes more complex, men and women are able to form task-oriented groups and work together in non-sexual settings.
