Is social media a threat now?

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Saturday raised concerns over misuse of social media specially to flare up communal hatred by certain section. Recently Law Minister Salman Khursid also raised questions over Government "losing the communication battle" because its skills do not match up to the proliferation of media where many people are "screaming and shouting that something has gone wrong" without explaining the basis. Government has come with "aggressive" communication strategy specially in coalgate saga..where on daily basis ministers came in open to talk aggressively on this issue. Assam incident was a eye opener for the government and to us also as how communication on social media, SMSs can be so threatening to the integrity of the country that lead to migration from one state to another. Can Arvind Kejriwal be an alternative?

If Arvind Kejriwal becomes MP in 2014 then it will a fresh start for 'Parliamentary Democracy'. All great political leaders are crying for Parliamentary Democracy sanctity, especially who are evolved from JP/VP movement and alleging Anna and Team is violating the vital democratic principles which they have followed so well. For 5 years as Member of Parliament Arvind has to work for "Anna The Party" till 2019 elections, and in between fighting all state elections from 2014 to 2019. The Congress is relived that this movement will give the BJP nightmares as BJP'S urban class votes will go to Team Anna in 2014. But anti-corruption atmosphere in the country began in 2011 August when Anna did 'fast until death'. In this country we have accepted corruption as a part of the system and a non issue. We have also seen Bofors corruption issue used by political parties to come....

The delay in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title suit verdict has been a blessing in disguise. I sincerely pray to the Almighty that the verdict now comes after the Commonwealth Games have been successfully concluded. Lawmakers feel that Ayodhya -- being a sensitive issue -- has the capacity to whip up communal fervour and hence the restraint. And rightfully so -- any untoward incident can jeopardise the Games and sully Brand India as it prepares for an international spectacle. Mixed emotions, ranging from optimism to eternal hope to perseverance to the fear of failure to sheer anger at our hard-earned money being squandered, have been haunting the collective imagination. The anger is palpable. After all, it's my money which went down the drain as the foot overbridge at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium - a venue for the Games - collapsed last week. ....
