Our attitude responsible for CWG mess

The delay in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title suit verdict has been a blessing in disguise. I sincerely pray to the Almighty that the verdict now comes after the Commonwealth Games have been successfully concluded. Lawmakers feel that Ayodhya -- being a sensitive issue -- has the capacity to whip up communal fervour and hence the restraint. And rightfully so -- any untoward incident can jeopardise the Games and sully Brand India as it prepares for an international spectacle. Mixed emotions, ranging from optimism to eternal hope to perseverance to the fear of failure to sheer anger at our hard-earned money being squandered, have been haunting the collective imagination. The anger is palpable. After all, it's my money which went down the drain as the foot overbridge at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium - a venue for the Games - collapsed last week. ....
