Finding the true meaning of life

For most of us, our days often start with the regular doze of cribbing sessions, days when you crib about your personal, professional & social life and everything else you can possibly think of. It was one of those days...my day began with the irritating sound of the alarm pushing me right off the bed. I had overslept and was already late for work. My house was in a mess, the maid hadn't turned up, I could not find my favorite purple shirt that I had to wear for some strange reason and I was having a bad hair day... It was a chilly monday morning and I was stuck in a huge traffic Jam. A feeling of frustration, depression and irritation had crept within me. Everything around me, bothered me...the sound of the honking cars, the chilly breeze blowing across my face and the ugly brown shirt....

I must have been in my teens when I developed this obsession for books analysing relationships and understanding the opposite sex. John Grays..Men are from mars... and Allan & Barbara Peases', why men don't listen & women can't read maps...a few of my obvious favorites....I would have read Linda Goodman's Love Signs over a zillion times, hoping it will be the perfect guide to help me find my prince charming...and an end to all my problems... In my effort to understand the opposite sex...and complexities of relationships, I came across over a thousand articles where women were referred to more often as the the more...complex species'. That got me thinking... Are we really so difficult to understand? If so, what makes us that why? In the initial days of your relationship with Mr. Perfect, everything feels so right. The sky appears to be more blue, the grass more....

In a childs world- My first taste of Journalism

I still remember what my professor once said. I was amongst the thirty students to have been selected for the Journalism course at a leading institute in the city. That day, I was attending one of my first sessions on 'Writing for print'. After an hour of lecture on 'adopting the pyramid style in writing' and the 'simple is beautiful' concept, my professor said, "If your story is able to capture a child's interest, then it's a success and your work is done". The lecture got over and months later I was working for a leading newspaper in the country. However unlike my peers who took up hardcore reporting, covering issues related to crime, civic sense and health, I was placed under a special section that dealt with schools and education. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed as I too like my friends was looking forward to....
