Pakistan prepared a lousy track
Today must have been the most boring day of cricket that I have ever seen. Except at the end of Pakistan's innings when the wickets fell in a heap, it was all very boring.
The records made in such matches have no value. All the batsmen enjoyed their saty and with so many centuries being scored the match had to end in a draw. Even though the runs scored will go into the record books but even the batsmen don't value such scores.
The wickets were pathetic. Having played for India for a long time and captained the team for a short duration, I can say that the wickets cannot be prepared without the consent of the home captain. Without accusing the Pakistani skipper, I can say that they must definately had a say in the types of tracks that were prepared.
The Pakistani team management must have thought that after their loss against India two years ago they cannot give us any chance to win again.
In my opinion it is not a negative attitude by the hosts it is just my guess. Inzamam has rubbished the accusitions that Pakistan prepared dead tracks because they feared losing to India.
But definately the Pakistan board and management is behind all this. In cricket the team management always has a lot of say in what types of pitch should be prepared. If Pakistan had wanted to have more lively track they could have prepared it but they prepared a lousy one.
The team management may have not given any postive feedback to the groundsmen of what type of tracks they want. On the other hand they may have asked for a batting paradise.
Probably they are planning to go for the kill in the last Test match at Karachi. This is what i fell although in may be wrong.
Otherwise I don't know why would team that depends on fast bowlers to bowl the opposition out and has good pacers will not prepare a seamers track.
We will only know in the next match if they are going to prepare a lively track or not.
From this Test match, I don't think there was any real gain for any of the team, though the Indians did find out a good fast bowler in RP Singh. He looks a goood bowler and runs in well. He is very young and to get the man of the match award on the debut that too as a bowler is a great achievement. I want to congratulate him and he has a bright future.
Apart from that there was nothing in the match.
Looking at the next match in Karachi we will have to wait and see what kind of wicket we get. In my opinion Harbhajan Singh will find it hard to find a place in the team. The big question is if we want to play four bowlers or five. All that will depend on the pitch.
