Millennium's longest annular solar eclipse
It was our third day on the Eclipse cruise in Maldives. The day began early for us eclipsoholics on-board country's first eclipse cruise as we figured best viewing positions, got our hands on the solar goggles and attended how-to-see-the- eclipse workshops organised by astronomers from SPACE.
We all waited patiently on the top deck of aquamarine in the middle of the Indian ocean, as the moon slowly covered the mammoth sun to finally reveal the breathtaking `ring of fire'. But instead of 11 minutes it lasted for only about 30 seconds -just before the clouds covered the marvel and it started pouring only to give few glimpses of the annularity.

Though the clouds played hide and seek with us yet people were far from disappointed. As our cruise headed back to Cochin it took back bunch of satisfied eclipse chasers.
