The government diktat to extend school hours on Teachers' Day to show the PM's speech live has sparked a controversy. The PM will deliver an address to the students on September 5 between 3 and 5 pm. However, the schools and parents say that the time is inconvenient and is making them completely reschedule their plans. HRD minister Smriti Irani though has called the controversy politically motivated.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to complete 100 days in office. Speedy decision making and taking steps in the right direction have been accounted as the government's biggest achievement.
'People will give a reply to whether prices (of essential commodities) have gone down or not,' Sonia Gandhi said.
