- Hi Sanjeeb, Isnt the policy of BCCI to be blamed, for this unknown players to steep to such a low, just for example an Ambati Raidu gets paid 30 Lakhs because he hasnt played for India, And a Jaidev Unadkat gets paid 3 Crores because he has played one test for india Asked by: Bhavik
- bhavik, you are absolutely correct in pointing out the major flaw - yes the issue of uncapped players has led to a major problems within the league
- There is surely a pattern emerging ,they are like the chasing team scoring slowly in middle overs and then only to be successful in end overs by some very poor bowling like rank full tosses?do all these things done in conformity to increase the popularity by playing out close finish matches?? Asked by: Blessan
- there is absolutely no way this can be proved as suggested. also, lets not forget, the format in itself is evolving, and the best of captains are trying out new things every game - so certain methods are on display... but that doesn't necessarily mean that it is fixed
- Hi Sanjeeb! There isnt any question here just a statement. Was the six by Bravo yday fixed? Was Kieron Pollard n Raydu's effort fixed? These journos who do these so called sting operations, what they will never understand is the passion or Junoon as they say of getting up in the morrnings at 3am and tirelessly n passionately playing the game to make it into the team? Yes there have been cases but its just not fair to time and again take the credit away.... Last year dey said oh india won the world cup was fixed... Really dude if it can be fixed so easily how d hell aussies won it three times in a row??? Asked by: Ankush Kumar
- well said ankush, as a cricket lover, i share your passion and sentiment ... but there are a couple of questions the sting has raised
- Sanjeev! well have you seen the footage its so fake & news channel call it a sting operation ! how can a news channel do something of that sort without ethic anyways they must be drawn to court. Well if all this is a FIX, So Is Entire Cricket ! I wish KKR & RCB fans to have a strong heart ! Don't you think people are Over Reacting just their favourite team has lost??? Asked by: Sree Narla
- Sree, the sting shows one of the players agreeing to bowl no-balls for a certain sum of money - isn't that a serious issue in itself? but on the other hand, the india tv sting doesnt show anything that suggests fixing in ipl ... yes people are over-reacting, i agree, to a certain bit, but at the other hand, there are issues like that of uncapped players who want more money in the ipl are seen to be openly talking abt it on camera!!!
- Dont you think IPL tries to make matches more interesting intentionally? for example Fall of wickets in the last over or hitting six or four in the last ball. Asked by: simab
- not at all - you are suggesting a very deep-rooted conspiracy without any substantial basis ... the format of t20 usually produces such exciting cricket
- Why will players "fix" the matches? They have already been "auctioned" for hefty amounts.. Do you see the involvement of big fishes like the TEAM OWNERS in the alleged "fixing"? Asked by: Arvind Agarwal
- where is the fixing in the ipl - can you please suggest?
- doent the add reflect on the great big tamasha the ipl has become. Those are professional playing cricket for years but once they drop easy catches or give their wicket away it makes me think if it should be called sports entertainment and not just sports. Asked by: Sid varma
- ipl does indeed reflect a 'made-for-tv' phenomenon ... but that doesn't necessarily mean that players don't perform as you are suggesting
- Dear Sanjeeb, In Cricket everything sells ! Tossed coins, Wickets, Bats etc. Than why not NO BALLS ??? Asked by: Ramaswamy NS
- you are suggesting that players should sell their soul!!! guess you aren't a cricket lover then
- I am shocked to see the footage. If the shown footage is true then whats the future of IPL ?? Asked by: Akhtar Abbas
- the bcci needs to be more careful, there are a few loose ends that need to be tied up - like the issue of uncapped players ... plus vigilance needs to be on the alert
- Do u think the plaer in question is MS Dhoni? Asked by: Max
- Incredible the way you speculate buddy
- i think it is the example of fixing that in last match on last ball six by dhoni against night riders Asked by: vikas Mittal
- sorry, you are just speculating now
- Hello....As IPL5 is reckoned to contain most nail biting finishes in IPL history and regained its shine after floundering in past few years, So can it be seen as conspiracy by those who didn't digest seeing IPL to be a global success. Asked by: Anoop, KKR Supporter
- well anoop, I really doubt if the sting was done to put down the ipl ... but it does pose some serious questions, doesn't it?
- Hi sanjeeb , Whom to trust now. Seriously i am shattered as a result of this news . I even doubt the integrity of journalists like you. Can money buy anything?? Asked by: faizaan(Kashmir)-
- Never trust anyone who says 'trust me', as the old saying goes :) You are welcome to doubt anything mate, but do have some reason/logic/proof for that
- I hear from some friends that most matches in IPL including who has to make to the play-offs is fixed and owners know about it; I haven't believed a word of their's yet however. Do you know what is the truth? Asked by: CJ
- i do not believe what you are saying - where is the proof ... and on what basis are your friends suggesting that - its plain banter that should be avoided
- Hi sanjeeb, this year most of the matches ended in the last over and some during the last ball, this looks like it is done for TRP's.. dont you think IPL is like WWE where the result is fixed but the fights are real ?? Asked by: Abhijeet
- well that's been what quite a few are criticing the ipl about ... but it will be really unfair to tar the league by such speculation - afterall there's some really good cricket being played there also
- Yesterday in both the matches MI vs RCB as well as CSK vs KKR last ball was bowled full toss and the second batting team is made to won ? Don't tell me that the bowlers will be under pressure, because this is not the case only yesterday. I have witnessed it in many matches but unable to mention all of them.. Asked by: Ravi Shankar V R
- well you have made an interesting observation buddy, but it will be unfair to speculate without any proof
- hello....do you think that with the money involved in the IPL, young cricketers are at risk of being poached upon by spot/match fixers???? Asked by: rik chatterjee
- its difficult to agree to your thought ... cricketers are getting very well-paid in the ipl - wonder why would they fall prey to such stuff
- all the not so famous players who are not paid much can easily be lured by such offers and all the players who have been tainted are not that famous and rich...so they can fall in the trap of spot fixing Asked by: Man Mohan (NAINITAL)
- greed has got nothing to do with being famous or not-so-famous ... remember the news of the world sting - that snared well-known and established players like Asif, Amir and Salman Butt
- Hi sanjeeb , The sting operation points towards the bigger conspiracy and it does not even spare the IPL owners. Will the truth ever come out?? Asked by: Omar (sopore)
- it will obviously need far more probing than just one sting to bring out what could be cricket's worst fears
- Dear Sanjeeb, like the old saying goes, there is no smoke without fire. There have been many revelations and they cannot be construed as untrue. Your views Asked by: Narayanan S
- at the moment, the bcci is examining the footage - will wait for their official reaction ... but at the outset, the issue is pretty serious enough from whatever video evidence has been presented
- Sanjeeb...Entire Cricket Fraternity knows India's muscle Power. Is this sting intend to malign India's image? Asked by: Manoj
- No, not at all. It certainly throws up some serious questions when you see players on camera saying they would bowl no-balls for money!! thats a serious matter in itself
