- Will all this uncertainity lead to a Army take over who are waiting on the wings? Asked by: Anonymous
- I dont think so the army is waiting at the wings & unless things get much worst then they are now, not many people are counting on any kind of a military take over.
- Sir,what will be the impact of Imran Khan in the next election?Any guess, how many seats? Asked by: Kamal Agg
- Well he has become a political factor, no doubt about that. He has already upset the old cosy 2 party equation. We use to have PPP & the PML-N & they alternated with each other. But with Imran & his PTI the 2 way equation has become a pre cornered fight. And the contest is likely to be the most fierce in Punjab where it will be where PML-N & the PTI which will be battling for turf & influence. But how many seats he win, its hard to say.
- Sir,how apolitical is justice chaudhry? Asked by: Kamal Agg
- Justice Chaudhury is about as apolitical as Mamta Banerjee or Mulayum Singh Yadav. The SC is increasingly seen as a political SC, hard on some & very very soft on others. But all under the garb of neutrality & the rule of law.
- It is fine that Gilani has been removed by a court order. But this was mainly because he doid not impliment the earlier order of innvestigating Zardari. Will the new PM do as has been directed in the court ruling? Asked by: Arun
- No he will not, so we will be in for some more exciting time but this will take time & as this plays out the next election will be around the corner.
- Is Hina Rabbani Khar a serioos contendor for the PM? Gilani was removed because he didn't act against the President for his Black Money stashed away(according to the latest data, Pakistan stands at the 60th spot for the toatl money deposited in the Swiss banks) does the change of PM make any difference..as the new PM would be of the same party and would not go against he paty's interest and hence not act against Zardari Asked by: Man Mohan (NAINITAL)
- Hina Rabbani Khar is taken most seriously for her designer clothes & designer accessories in the Indian media. She may be a Prime Ministerial candidate in her heart but not anywhere else. As for the somes of money allegedly in swiss banks, no PPP PM is likely to disturb that nest.
- Will the PPP coalation suffer due to change of leadership of teh Government ?? Asked by: sundar1950in
- Now this is the test of their skills. We'll have to see how soon they select a name & how smoothly the coalition partners fall in line behind the new press. The coalition partners will ask for this or that concession but the test is how soon they overcome these difficulties.
- Politically will Gilani gain by becoming a Martyr on the political battlefield. ? Asked by: sundar1950in
- He doesnt tend to lose much. His son is in the National Assembly, his brother is in the Punjab provincial assembly. The ordinary PPP worker will be looking upon him as some kind of a hero. He has made his fortune & he must be having the most extensive Prime Ministerial wardrobe anywhere. He has been the PM & there's not much further that he could go.
- Benazir,Nawab Sharif,Pervez Musharraf,Asif Zardari - - all top leaders have been moving out of the country once out of power. It does no credit to the democracy of Pakistan. Has the system gone so bad that wrong acts by those in power go unchecked and fearing prosecution they run out of the country. Trust Gilani will not move out since he has not been an alleged corrupt politician.?> Asked by: sundar1950in
- The once who sought refuge abroad did so either because they were escaping the politics of vengeance or because they were escaping the military dictatorship. Gilani is safe on both counts. But as for any stories of corruption, the word in Pakistan is that he has not been above feathering his nest. He has done well for himself.
- The PM has been sacked for contempt of court by removing him from the membership of parlaiament. Anyhow what is the final ruling on the immunity available to the PRESIDENT. ?? Asked by: sundar1950in
- That has not come under discussion & the subject has not been judicially explored.
- In the fight between Judiciary and the Government there seems to be a technical knock-out to the Government of pakistan. The ruling says that there was no appeal from the Government on the case filed by opposition challenging the speaker's order. was this silence intentional.? Asked by: sundar1950in
- No, I think they took a calculated decision, thinking that they would not get relief from SC, so why have the guilty verdict reiterated.
