  • you are my favourite journalist from the cnn ibn panel.... keep up the good work.... :-) Asked by: sid
  • Hi and thanks for that! All best
  • It seems Obama has scored some debate points in this final debate, Do you think this can impact outcome in Ohio, key state in these elections Asked by: Zareef Ahmed
  • Hi Zareef, Thanks for your comment and question. It's a good point - will the debate itself impact the elections in Ohio especially? Probably not...but the last minute campaigning sure could! Both candidates are doing the swing states now on through...
  • Good day Amrita, who do you think wins now, Romney kind of agreed to all of the Obama's substance in the debate, but had different ways of implementing. Is this being cool/clever or trying to show more balanced approach Asked by: Narayan
  • Hi Narayan, Romney played it cool and did defer to the president's view on a lot - in terms of foreign policy - but brought it back to the economy, which is his strong point... And it worked both ways, sounds like, with lots of polls saying he sounded like a commander in chief (though Obama had the slight edge in the debate, acc CNNORC for one)
  • What is the feeling on the ground in the US. Who seems to win? The feeling one gets there are too many undecided voters and the next 15 days statergy is far more crucial. your views pls Asked by: Narayan
  • It's too tight a race to call - There are many undecideds, and that's who the two candidates are reaching out to through the debates, but now that's over and it's major campaigning for the next two weeks, including the crucial battelground states.
  • There is a view that this debate was terrible and only redundant points were made? What do you feel? Asked by: Narayan
  • It wasn't terrible or redundant but definitely not as high-octane as the second one! Thanks for all your q's
  • Hi, i really like your brand of journalism. Wanted to ask you how important debates are in deciding the final outcome of the election? So they really matter Asked by: Palyor
  • Thanks Palyor - not sure what my brand of journalism is? It's a good question -- pretty much everyone I've spoken to (debate experts, pundits, politicos) say they're key, but only to undecideds. If the election comes down to undecided voters (not the majority), then the debate performances really do matter... But for the next few weeks it's going to be all about the battleground states - so both candidates are busy chasing across these 6/7 states that essentially hold the key to the White House!
  • Who is better for India? Asked by: Anurag
  • Anurag. Thanks for your question - It's a good question. But honestly, there's broad support on both sides for good ties with India. It's an alliance that both Republicans and Democrats are committed to, and both have on their platforms. Notice India didn't come up in the debate today - I've seen some q's and comments on twitter on this - I think it's a good thing, seeing as the US-India relationship is a fairly stable one.
  • What has been your personal experience covering the debate? Asked by: Sneha
  • Hi Sneha, Thanks for your q. I got a chance to cover the second debate, alongside a few other foreign correspondents. It was spectacular. The atmosphere at Hofstra University was festive, and there was just so much energy, and lots of talks (pundits, professors, politicos alike) which helped. The debate itself we had to watch from the hall next door, not the actual debate hall, so that was a moment of disappointment for many. Not for long, because right after that, it transformed into "Spin Alley" where all the big guns came out to spin what we had just seen. So from John Kerry, to David Axelrod to Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, they were all there. To be part of that experience was awesome!
  • i think India should not depend to US for any thing , what do you think on this? Asked by: pranav
  • Hi Pranav, That might be a little unrealistic at this point? But a move towards self-sufficiency, sure, that's something India has been pushing for, for certain.
