Q
What are your expectations with Aashayein?
Asked by: qais

A
Of course the obvious answer is its a huge hit. Jokes apart, we work so hard, so we can reach the widest possible audience and its always a disappointment when that doesn't happen.
Q
What's the most important quality in an actor u seek?
Asked by: Riya

A
Honesty. Its the reason I cast John in aashayein because in spite of all the gloss and fame he is just an honest Bandra boy.
Q
Do actors let directors down or is it vice versa? i find that you are at your best when working with new comers or with great talented actors. But do you find some problems in working with so called "STARS"
Asked by: Shreyansh

A
No. At the end of the day every one is just an actor but however with a star managing the audience's perception is always a challenge...and should not be taken lightly. Other than that, its always one human being and one camp.
Q
Do you see yourself returning to screen as an actor?
Asked by: Roy

A
i hope to...its been a while since i fully attempted a part not since Teen Deewarein, the coming year i think I will attempt a larger role instead of just 5 minute cameos.
Q
Can you throw some light on why this film was so impossibly delayed?
Asked by: Kuljit

A
There was a disagreement between the producer and the distributor and all i had to do was wait on the sidelines. i am just glad they worked their differences out and the movie is coming out.

Asked by: Dev

A
I hope it will remind you that you have a great life and that you enjoy and live it now.
Q
Hi Nagesh, in films, kissing scenes are shown and the reason given is that its because of the demand of the story.
I say, why do u have to show it, just bring the actors closer and move the camera away from them, (as u do it when u wanna show that they had sex, but u dont actually show the sex) and it will be understood that they kissed, WHY DO U HAVE TO SHOW IT ?
Asked by: Akshay

A
Y do have to be so scared of sex? it is the most natural act there is besides breathing of course. i dont show intimacy for titiliation but to get a point across. when u see the film u vll understand.

Q
Hello Mr. Kukunoor,
What do u think went wrong with 8 X 10 tasveer? when the idea was as good as hollywood flick inception?
Asked by: Abhijeet Kabbur

A
Thats very kind. I believe that the marketing should have been longer and more planned. the film arrived in theatres without any warning and the mess that surrounded the producer/theatre owners' strike.
Q
Hi, What is Aashayein about? Hope it is releasing in Chennai. Had to go to Bangalore to watch "Rockford"!!
Asked by: Aarthi Sridar

A
It is releasing in Chennai. The film is about rahul who wins a large sum of money and finds out the same day that he has got 90 days to live. Its his journey, the ppl he meets and the magic that life has to offer. its a reminder to LIVE LIFE NOW!
Q
Dude! Why dont you go back to US...recharge and come back to give us another Gem likke the Hyderabad Blues or Bollywood Calling?
You seem to have run out of ideas and as a result, taking non-actors like Akshay!!???!!!
Asked by: Satish.S

A
You make different movies at different points in your life. Hyderabad Blues was 13 years ago. I cant keep making the same film over and over again. Sure, some of them you might like and some not but i am going to keep trying. And are you genuinely telling me that u didnt like Akshay's performance in 8/10 bcoz i sure did.
Q
Why did you take John Abraham in the movie?
Asked by: Rajat

A
I like the honesty in John as a person and also to cast against type. This will give the audience a chance to see John as an actor and much more than just a hunk.
