Overblown s simple security measure for sheer personal gains. And add to this, some irresponsbile politicians over reacted without realizing head or tail and spoke with sheer disgrace. This country need to come out of this hero worship, who don't deserve any of this. They are selfish people and should be treated just like any other citizen of this country.

SRK may be a king in Pockets of India and cannot expect the world to treat him like that. He is great actor, entertainer so on and so forth. But he should learn to respect the laws of the land he is visiting irrespective of his surname. Hundreds of Indians are questioned in Aiports all over the world as a part of security and immigration problems. As a gentleman he should have allowed it to rest there and then instead of making mountain out of mole hill - just get some publicity for his future films - and our media helped him as well. Look at our honablable former President Dr Kalam . He did not even bring it up himself - because he never wanted publicity. Mr Khan , first learn how the other half of the world lives, before making an issue out of nothing

I have nothing to comment on SRK's stand. Surely i felt bad when CNN IBN discussed this issue for half an hour.

TV channels are corporations and not individuals like SRK. I surprised to see selling racism for half an hour.

Insisting people to discuss on this issue and making people to see this who addicted to the news chanells.

Also i am worried the way fear of swine flu is sold on news channels. While we have more than 1000 deaths every day in india by various reasons.

Please provide the pulic with positive statistics, which which people feel sucured and safe.

I really appreciate the days of Doordarshan, whne had onlt saw maximum of positiives.

This incident has shown the world that India is still immature - its people are living in a different world. No country, who follows rules and regulations (which also works!) is going to make exceptions. US has successfully defended their country from 9-11-01. All US citizens and residents feel much safer as these young men and women are doing a fabulous, honest job. There cant be any compromise. The incident with SRK is just a routine (even sometimes it can take hours if they find the person acting 'smart', talkative, etc). Some citizens will now know his name because of all wrong reasons as media will make him a target there. We all know how they dealt with even M. Jackson, lindsey Lohan, etc!! this incident will also hurt Indian business travellers (all wrath will come down on them as they will not want to deal with any poetntial trouble makers). Though SRK will, in a way, get lot of mileage with his new film and yes, he will get media coverage as he is used to. Any, by taking this issue with the US, Indian politicians will also expose their inadequate sense of security and VIP/Babu culture to the entire world.

After 9/11 America did not have any other terror attack where as here in India every now an then

First of all we must understand the changes in the world. We in India are very much used to seeing VIPs getting a preferential treatment over common people. Nothing wrong in what SRK had to go through at Newark. It is the official's duty and he was just doing that. Whats wrong if a official wants to crosscheck your papers? It is his duty to do so. If anybody finds this a problem, then they may please stay at home. Lately SRK has been hogging the media space one too much. He is a good actor and his movies excellent. The buck may stop there. This country has a lot of other things to worry about.

The point that should be discussed is that there should be a mechanism, whereby, if somebody is claiming to be a well-known person, or a big-shot, the authorities should be able to quickly verify the claims of that person. The idea is not to impress them, but to get a fair idea of that person and save time.

It would have taken just a few minutes for the US immigration officials to crosscheck the claims of SRK.

They do have a right to question him (or anybody else) if they doubted his motives of entering their country.

Keep in mind, it just needs an ordinaly "sarkari aadmi" to harass you to hell.
:-)
