Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was detained for two hours at a US airport after American immigration officials spotted the 'Khan' in his name.

What nonsense is this? Who is Sharukh Khan? Sharukh is just a Human Being like me, like you like all the human beings around the world. I'm also a Fan of King Khan. But Security measures is for the Human beings around the world. Its not possible to exclude sharukh from these procedures because of his identity. Security Measures in the US is for avoiding any types threat for their country. The police officers inside the airport did their duty only. Their Security procedures differs from other countries' around the globe that itself helped them any terror attacks (in high level) after 9/11. This post itself is irrelevant. There is no need to discuss this issue.
You media people would start discuss through out the day if any terror attack happens. Then this would be your question "What low level security procedure follows?"
Let me say one more...Their securities helps them a lot for avoiding even a minor attack after 9/11. This is different from other nations including ours. (Just remember about 26/11)
Take a look @ this.
'Shah Rukh detained at Newark Airport BECAUSE HIS NAME IS KHAN'
Is this a right question from a reputed channel from india (also sister network of a gloabl channel)...?
This is just immature question I can say.

He deserves what he received at the Newark Airport. This incident brought him to the earth where he belongs. His ego was hyped by people like Karan Johar.

An arrogant fellow pampered by the ruling party had it coming to him.

Hope he behaves better in future and understands what humility means.

Just because our security apparatus pampers ego of film stars, cricketers and some politicians of ruling party, we should not assume that security of other countries will follow suit.

As Salman Khan has rightly said because of these measures, there has been no attack in US after 9/11 and our country is attacked every year.

Using religion for his cause is disgusting.

Don't blame the US, blame Bin Laden for creating problems for the brown Sahibs settled in the US or going in and out of the country.
9/11 attack could have killed over 100,000 people, it is just that people got a chance to walk/run away while the towers were burning.
Muslims are lucky they are still allowed to travel to the US, they could have all been expelled from the US.
A US security officer is doing his job quite honestly and that is why terrorist strikes have been low since 9/11.
In India, it is easy for them to get in and that is why attacks take place just about every week/month.
If an Indian police officer/municiapal copr staff was doing his job honestly, a million traffic violations would not go unchecked each day on the Indian roads, or one would not find hundreds of stray animals and encroachers on the broken roads every where.
Let us fix India first, before we raise fingers at the American public servants!

A country which has faced an unbelievable terror on it's land, in the name of religion, has every right to screen, scan, test etc anyone under the laws of it's land. America is right in what it is doing.

I do not understand why SRK's incident is being blown up so big? It is only for TRP game. Who is, after all, SRK ? He is an entertainer and that's it. There are many VIPs in India have gone thru this on US land. They are not cribbing about. SRK has made full use of this opportunity.

In India, the anti nationals awarded with capital punishment are roaming free. You can do any thing in India and get away.

America is not India, mind it !

It is not about VIP treatment not being meted out to SRK. It is about him being discrimintaed only because he belongs to a certain religion and becuase of his surname. It is about the US authorities presuming all people from a certain religion to be suspects. What SRK is saying that if a person like him is targeted becuase of his religion and he is in a position to highlight something which has gone unspoken before, through that he wants to highlight what is happening for the benefit of other people from his religion. It is very petty to think that he is making a big issue just becuase of his ego and not getting VIP attention. SRK definitely has a much larger mind and heart to think like that else he would not reached where he has.

In world terrorism, people, groups and organisations connected with muslms are deeply involved. It, therefore, natural that security agencies suspect anybody who is a muslims.

As far as Shah Rukh Khan issue is concerned, he may be a VIP or a demi-god here but a US security officer who has been instructed to follow the security manual without seeing the face of person has to do his job.

It is an established fact that the Hollywood has deep links with underworld criminals and these criminals have links with national and international terrorists elements. The Sanjay Dutt case is still alive in the minds of the people of India.

Hence, there is nothing wrong if SRK is subjected to a thorough checking by the US security personnel.

Instead of making noice and hue and cry, one should realise the importance of having a fool-proof security system. It is because of this VIP culture and laxity in security that countries like India are soft targets for terrorists.

Who is Shahrukh Khan? He is simply an actor! Why is he making it such a big issues. Even Ministry is taking his side. It's so ridiculous that at one hand we always want to be SAFE rather than SORRY and on the other if anything takes place for security reason, we make such a big issue. SRK must not act like this.. he must behave like a RESPONSIBLE person. I think this will be later used for the promotion of 'My name is Khan!'

SRK's claim that he was questioned for having Khan in his last name doesn't corrobarate well. Is anyone having 'Khan' in his name put through 2 hours grilling session ?? There is surely something else to this. We should know the complete detail for what SRK was suspected.
And why did American security took 2 hours to ascertain the identity of undoubtedly the biggest star of India. This reflects poorly on America's intelligency and exposes their baseless prejudices.
Though I have reservations against SRK as a personality, still I feel obliged to condemn this humiliating deal meted out to one of our biggest stars.
