There is no need for Shahrukh khan to get upset over this. It is perfectly normal. I rather appreciiate the security officers in USA who did this. After all Khan is an actor and not a diplomat from Indian goverment side. So theres no need for any "HUngama" over this issue. I understand Mr SRK wants publicity for his new movie " MY NAME IS KHAN" But this is not the ocrrect thing to do.

I don't see any problem in SRK being frisked at Newark Airport. Thanks once again to Indian media for over blowing this petty issue.

US did not charge SRK but they just searched and India has to let US do whatever it wants to curb terrorism.

I feel that except for incumbent President, Vice President & PM, everyone can be searched if something is suspected in any part of this world.

Ya, its tough to be a muslim and being frisked that too having high profile. Sometimes, situation puts one into wrong side of the world and thats fact of life. Thats why , situation turns people into criminals and they are not made.

Tell SRK to stop trying to market his new movie about racial profiling by resorting to cheap tactics. Can we stop focusing on this one person, when we have a country of 1 billion people to worry about? The biggest problem in SRK's life is a waste of 66 minutes, whereas some people in this country are worrying about how to feed their kids tomorrow. Shame on you Indian media!

This has happened to many of my friends who are Hindus. It also happened to George Fernandas in spite of sharing his first name with the then president of USA. So I don't think the 'Khan' name has got anything to do with that.

Also, we cannot expect an American security personnel to know who Shah Rukh is. How many Indian policemen can recognize the superstars of Bangladesh or Sri Lanka by their name or face?? India is no more significant to an average american than the bangladesh or Srilanka is for an Indian.

We really respect Mr.Khan for his talents and there is no doubt that he is superstar in INDIA but the incident took place at Newark Airport was common,so not to be taken seriously this is not a racial discrimination, this is just a GIMIC. Why he has been detained this time and not before ?.

He is also common human being not a VVIP, he just act in the film for his bread and butter and entertain the people, it does not mean that everyone in the world has to respect him.
Just think, what he has done to the country ?.

I really hate the same incident happened for Dr.Kalam and our Govt must take some serious steps to avoid these incidents in the future to such great people like him not for Mr.Khan and celebrities e.t.c

If, Mr.Khan would have been one of the greatest personalities like NarayanMurthy, Rathan TATA, Ambani Brothers,Premji and many more, then this matter should have been taken seriously, contribution to the nation by these great people is enormous and many people are surviving just because of them.

If Mr.Khan gets upset and angry, it's better not to travel US any more, let him go where ever he gets respect.

Why can't Indian think rationally and spend time in some constructive activities rather than discussing on such petty issues.

“don't-you-know-who-I-am" syndrome is not birthright of Politicians and Government officials but add too it "Don't you know my name is Khan “acceptable in India and should be in USA too. By virtue of shooting few movies in USA and selling distribution rights to Fox cinema self imposed "Khan Icon “needed acceptability world over is asking for too much for doing nothing constructive in nature, I think.
After his failed attempt of IPL fiasco and not giving any hit movie in last three years he remain in news for all wrong reasons except for his real work and this add feather in his cap too. May this cheap publicity give him badly needed hit in form of "my name is Khan" Good luck Mr. Khan for your movie but not on this Independence Day by this drama for personnel gain.

So what if u are shah rukh ? are you a political leader of the country ? remember u are afterall a citizen of india with no special privileges and thou you have given a lot to the field of cinema, thats where it ends, do u expect that just because u are an indian star, they should let u go ? its their duty to check everyone and if they are not satisfied , they detain people, its got nothing to do with your name, now stop cribbing about it, you've milked out all the sympathy and publicity u wanted out of it!!

Dear Sir/ Madam,
I just heard the detention of film star Sharukh Khan in the news. I was not too much surprised because another star from India Amir Khan faced same kind of harassment at US airport. Most of the time, the suspicion arises because of one’s skin color or first name or last name. I was faced with same kind of harassment in North American airports.

I have nothing to say about the civilized American community. But there are still many people in America who are racially biased; they called Barack Obama as “not an American citizen” but a Kenyan citizen, which is absolutely false. Some people called him Muslim, which is also totally false. There are people who tried to Malign Michael Jackson on false issues to extract money from him. Apart from being a genius artist Jackson was a great philanthropist and a great humanitarian. These are the people who put Jackson into enormous stress and shame which ultimately push innocent Jackson into drug addiction.

My advice to Indian government is to ask for an explanation from the US government regarding this matter. My advice to all Sharukh Khan Fans is this: please don’t over react, khan was humiliated by some “inured”, “dying super power” egoist men. Do not try to bite an injured “Dying Super Power” egoist.

Successful Indians will be the target because they are the Rising Super Power. Indians all over the world should not forget that a mad and injured Alsatian is something you should be scared of. But they (Indians all over the world) should not try to bite the Alsatian. After all, a mad Alsatian is a mad Alsatian.
Thank you.
Sanjoy
