SRK should not be given VIP status.

But you do not know these custom officers. They treat people like animals.

They are racist too.

I would like to know who is vouching for SRK? Shiney is also a actor, right? when he can commit a crime y not other stars. Who said stars dont need security checks? What about cricketers, sportperson? Arent they caught many times carrying drugs at the airport?

Who sais SRK is a diplomat? Just because he is famous doesnt exempt him from security procedures.

I am not a muslim, but i have gone through secondary checks in the US. So what? Dont i have the right as much as SRK to feel outgraged? And how is he a better law abiding citizen than me?

I doubt we know the entire picture, clearly.

-- For instance we do not know whether this episode lasted over 2 hrs, or 66 minutes (as stated by US official(s)).
-- Also whether this happened owing to racial / communal profiling or whether this was just a random check.

If it was just a random check, then I am afraid SRK (& many media personnel and hordes of his fans) need to grow up, and move on.

However if it was a case of profiling which one hears, happens there all the time... then of course the officer concerned was following procedure. This has so far proven effective (as pointed out by Salman Khan - wags attribute the observation to their frosty relation but I shall not get into that angle), but which nonetheless can be very difficult to handle, downright rude, and potentially a huge put-off. I refuse to accept that the same brain which can put a man on the moon
is unable to come up with an equally effective, but "warmer" (as SRK put it) system.

It’s no big deal that a superstar was detained. Unfortunate is, he was detained because of his religion.
Those who are spreading terror in the name of Islam should know from such incidence that they are not doing any good to Islam but making the lives of there own people miserable.
However the US officials could have been quicker in recognizing SRK, After all he is a world personality.
Such stringent security checks are appreciable and necessary for safety of every country.
So if US are doing its part, I don’t think there is any need to create an issue when any VIP is detained, be it SRK or respected APJ Kalam.

Totally ridiculous.Rules and laws are above all and it applies to filmy SRK as well. He can be a super star anywhere, but why should the US be concerned about that? It is the media which has to be blamed for giving so much of importance to this.People are least bothered about all these publicity stunts, when they have lots and lots of issues to be addressed.Adding to this, we cannot rule out the possiblity of SRK having clandestine links with the people who are already on hunt by the US authorities, when we go by the history of bollywood stars having connections with the underworld dons in and out of India.Afterall safety and security are the main concerns for any nation. We can expect this scene to be made in his forthcoming movie "My name is KHAN". So this incident can just be seen as a trailer :-)

SRK take it easy. You need to abide by the countries laws. If everyone is going through sec check why not you?
Govt.start having tight frisking procedure to avoid attacks, dont let anybody go without frisking be it a politician or common man or celebrity, I am sure you will find lots of information.

It is not so much big issue, like terrorist attack in mumbai...
Why people are discussing about such a silly thing? Whatever US has done with shahrukh its their security purpose, because they already faced one instant like (WTC attack). They don't want another attack by terrorists, thats why they are tighten security.
Just think about us(indian) where we are now? what we are doing? why there no action taken against terrorists? As last year we have seen plenty of attack by terrorists in india. Where is govt? After seeing all these attacks govt has not concentrated on Security.

Still enquiry is going about mumbai attack but no action taken, instead giving him all facility. We can expect another Hijack in coming days, if still enquiry is going with terrorist.

Whatever US is doing is correct, do you think can india follow the same process which US is following?

It's very unfortunate. Before law, every one is a common man. Every country has some security measures and everyone should abide by that. Why then there is so much fuss about it. Our former Prez also has similar experience but he never made so much of an issue.

Can we please ask the Homeland Security to export the concerned Security Officer and his Managers to India.

Our very own "Security Agencies" could learn a lot from them. They could start from our Cabinet Ministers and work downward to teach what "Security" means. Job of policing is not to appear in media and issue warning noises when a act happens but to PREVENT the very act,
