Sonia, Chanda Kochhar in Forbes powerful list: Coming of age for Indian women? |

Indian women are on top, literally! Congress President Sonia Gandhi and ICICI Bank CEO and Managing Director Chanda Kochhar have ranked in the top 20 of the World's 100 Most Powerful Women list compiled by Forbes. While Kochhar debuted at No. 20, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi was ranked 13 in the list. German Chancellor Angela Merkel tops the list. Is this the coming of age for the Indian women?

YAWN ! HA HA . Would either of them walk between midnight and 3 AM in Delhi's street without bodyguards. It's a wonder that Shobha De's name is missing. The truly powerful females are those girl kids who twist their fathers with their little fingers in a way their mothers envy.

Just paper created tigers not real.
Unless all the so called powerful women unity together and fight for the Women Right they are tigers only on paper.
These Womens want only powers like other males.

Sonia Gandhi's place ws expected.. But really, Chanda Kochhar has brought pride to the nation.. When the most of the world is fighting against the global meltdown, an Indian busness woman has proven a point here.. Her rise has been dramatic.. Comeing from a middle group family ,Serving ICICI for 10 years and rising to such a status is laudable,.. Many congratulations...

of course, Indian woman's are on the edge of valley from where at one side many young faces are facing their challenges and on the other side we can see that still at some extent we required more steps and measures to create women dominating nation. if we go in remote areas than we will find that still there are many obstructions and constraint of their gender. so with many other woman's we should help government in improving the society and let her contribution towards the modern nation of the world.

Well, congrats!! but I am not so happy... even though Sonia ji is citizen of our country ... her origin is not this... I look forward to have more indian origin women in the list rather than ... going to the olden days "Europeans ruling indian"... i feel shame that we indians are in the same state that we can't rule ourself ... we need always someone else (europeans) to rule us.. :-) well this is not the topic now.. lets encourage indian women...

When less woman are educated in India, accomplishment of Chanda Kochar and Indira Nyogi is commendable. Sonia Gandhi is what she is today because of these uneducated woman only. Proper education will give us more woman like Indira Nyogi and Chanda Kochar and also help us eradicating woman like Sonia Gandhi who are in power because of her surname only.

Dear Sir
Mrs Sonia gandhi would not have been anything if she had not wedded to the Gandhi family.
I personally do not consider her achievement in these terms as something very great

Thanks
