The Internet has turned 40: has it made us losing our attention span when it comes to reading?

Has the magic of having everything at our fingertips, at the click of a mouse, affected our reading habits? What do you think?

Thanks to Internet which allow us to comment after reading. I doubt that any one would have stopped reading the print media after getting hooked to internet rather internet is enabling us to read different views on very subject.

No. It is not because of the internet but because of T.V.!!While repeatedly viewing programmes in T.V. you pick up the habit of loosing the attention because of the n number of breaks it contains invariably. And especially this being so, since the small kid age, a forcible hard habit takes deep roots. On the contrary, the internet can be viewed continuosly without any distubances if needed so by someone who doesn't have such a habit. Moreover, one can use the net for a specific purpose with all the due attention needed to be given-for say- collection of data ,references etc.,

Definitely no!! It has made reading more easy and readily available at our convenience.Needless to say, E-book is also a part of rich applications that internet has provided us.With mobile internet in place, we need not carry books in hand if we have an internet enabled PDA in hand during travels. Also, internet enables us to read the latest news anytime, where ever we are.I would say birth of internet is a boon for reading lovers..
