I have read Da Vincy code and just finished Lost symbol. I feel Da Vincy was better. Lost symbol disappoints on two points first it is too much streched in last 100 pages. while reading I used to feel it should end now. Also many times the twists and turns are somewhat predictable, also when secret reveals it disappoints. Overall it lacks depth.

The lost symbol doesn't live up to my expectations.well that is what you get when your previous ones are just so good.my favourite pick will be digital fortress.i guess it has to do with me being a techno freak.i would also like to suggest that dan brown should really shift from the american mason thing and add variety to his writings.as sidney sheldon has died i would like to see dan fill the voidness created on the minds of his readers.

Well i think amongst all his books ANGELS N DEMONS stands out the best atleast 4 me, simply for its more realistic story than the others, the book really has pace, thrill and the core of the book revolves around 1 of the most debatable topics of todays world ie. SCIENCE OR RELIGION.
Though DA VINCI CODE was good 2 but it was more of spoon feeding than actual imagination and suspense that a reader goes through while reading a book .

Just finished Lost Symbol. I have to say that this book took the longest time to finish of all DanBrown books. The story starts slowly picks up very good pace in the middle ,but the last 100 pages are really a big yawn. The Villain of Lost Symbol Mal'akh is no Silas of Davinci but rather a comical Mogambo as in Zoolander movie.
The book is though quite informative on new science & gadgets. Totally the book was a huge disappointment. Dan Brown gets us Lost in the Lost Symbol.
Thumbs down.

Dan Brown is an excellent writer. The amount of research which he do before writing the books is amazing. Whether its
"Codes in Super computer" as in "Digital Fortress"
OR
Research in "History of Christianity/Symbols and Luvre Museum" in "Da Vinci Code"
OR
Research in "Religion and Science" as in "Angels & Demons"
OR
Research in "NASA" in "Deception Point"

all is amazing and proof of hard work which he puts into his books.

I have read all Dan Brown books. Amongst all his books, my choice for the best is "Digital Fortress". The second one is "Da Vinci Code". I guess "Da Vinci Code" created controversy and so read by most people, but you can try out "Digital Fortress" for a trill-ful read!

My Study of English Literature in depth started from 2002. Prior to that I specialized in ^Telugu Literature both ancient and modern. First I started English Poetry and Drama( Ancient and Modern0 including Shakespeare and Milton),prose works of Ancient writers and just recently started going through modern writers.I am now reading Dan- Brown's DA VINCI CODE.It is amking an intersting reading.

Dan Brown is an interesting author, but is hyped a lot more than his books are worth. They are interesting, no doubt, but more factual (if they indeed are real facts) than story. The story is held hostage to imbibe more mysteries about ancient realms, paintings and architecture. If these things are torn out, and the book is stripped down to its basic storyline, there is nothing new about it.
Although they make an interesting read, there are better authors out there who can tell stories much better. My favorite author of all time is Alistair Maclean. He is an amazing author, and is one of the best satirists.

The only novel i have read of Dan brown "The Da Vinci Code". No doubt "The Da Vinci Code" is fast paced. I have checked with some of my other friends and found that most of his novels are fast paced and very much similiar(other than mystery). He is not my favourite author and i feel media hype makes people buy his book, except those who read thriller Novels. Reading Dan Brown will lead you no where as far as Knowledge is concerned.
I am not going to read the "The last symbol" as i am busy with Kamila shamshie "Burnt shadow". I recomend you guys to read it.

Regards,
