Yes because simply being one of the Indian representatives in UN does not mean that one is fit to be inducted in the ministerial cabinet. It is not wrong with Mr Tharoor, something wrong with the whole political system because for so long I don't know how long he has not been in our country. The royal person who has lived in some other country so long and breathing & living rich all the time pscyhologically, will come up with these kind of comments. I am not in support of him, but I feel there is something wrong only with the central government head persons who have been elected by the people and it's their unreasonable criteria being set for selecting individuals and inducting them into the all powerful central ministerial cabinet.

There is no justification asking for Sashi taroor's resignation.Americans take things in a lighter vein and it is their habit to call the flight economy class, jokingly, as cattle class. As Taroor spent a reasonable time in States,he might have uttered jovially as cattle class. For that we should not have this much of storm over the tea cup.It is a known fact that majority of us are good at commenting in a hasty manner withtout going into the circumstances.

I don't think his resignation is justified. He made a comment which was uncalled for and has since apologised for it.He must realize that he represent the cattle class...........

Shashi Tharoor is urbane, highly educated, has moral scruples , competent in his profession(foreign affairs), speaks English fluently and most important is clean and good looking. No wonder our politicians can't stand him. He is out of tune with the majority in this country.

It is absurd that a man of Shashi Tharoor's potential is being targetted for such a trivial thing, ignoring all his other attributes.

It is not cattle class that caused controversy. It is reference to the holy cows ...

the real problem for Tharoor arises for HOLY COWS COMMENT .so all this cattle class controversy is sham.his party does not like him calling those showing off their austerity drive-HOLY COWS.so sycophants are calling 4 resignation to uppe their sycophancy level and commitment for sycophancy to HIGH COMMAND.Tharoor hits 2 birdies in one tweet-first being Airlines for inventing/herding in cattle-class--THE 2nd ONE THE HOLY COWS IN HIS OWN PARTY/SIDE(READ GANDHIS/PRANABS OF THIS NATION)

He himself travels by what he calls "Cattle Class". What a lot of bull. Let him travel by train if he feels that airlines are treating their passengers like cattle. All airlines will be better off without politicians traveling by air and better for the cattle class traveler. Somebody please tell him he is from the cattle class country so stop trying to act high and mighty. This is India not New York.
No resignation, make him travel by lower class train only.

Unfortunately, our political class believes in rumours more than Humour. I believe that austerity overdrive has successfully camouflaged all the shortcomings of the UPA-II govt.
On the other hand, imagine the plight of Airlines !. They are already going through a rough patch and you don't want them to make a living by avoiding Business class ?
If the Govt is serious, it should go all hell against corruption and they will have more money to spend than what they are earning today through tax-payers !
So, talk about drought, talk corruption, talk nepotism, talk about improving efficiency try to make a change where you can !.
By the way, I have started my austerity drive - I switch off my TV when ever any news channel discuss this Austerity drive. This saves electricity and extends the life of my TV !! Now, thats true austerity isn't it ??
