600 Air India pilots to go on strike: Is chaos ruling the aviation sector in India? | Read Story

There is trouble in the Indian skies and on the ground too. Even before the aviation sector could recover from the Jet pilots imbroglio of last month, it is the turn of national carrier Air India. Air India pilots have gone on strike after the carrier decided to cut their incentives. Flight have been cancelled , causing inconvenience to passengers. Is chaos ruling the aviation sector in the country? How can it be managed better?

when there is incompetent people holding top most position i think worse is still to come. Whether it is Jet or AI their problem is almost the very same. The problem is that everyone that joins this industry has an evil intentions which are the reason of todays turmoil. This industry is most vulnerable. Every step taken involves huge expenditure and most of the steps that are taken are practically wrong hence this is the result. Today AI IS At a Situation where it is on red arc well set to collapse. If our PM does not take over immediately then I feel worse is yet to come.

Then there is no need of any department that is headed by a Minister for the purpose. All could be handled by Prime Minister aided by PMO. So much expenditure could be saved which may be utilized to address the crisis being face by Air India pilots.

There is so much reporting about pilot strikes but the detail is missing. Some rumors say that the in-hand has been reduced to 8000 from earlier 200000.
If this is true, then it is truly inhuman and senseless decision.
Before starting a debate, we the readers, would want to know the facts.

Current Rating:

Good, Jai ho hindustan, have another reality show on strikes????/ Indians are good in watching tv and commenting and watching cricket after cricket and endless debates, senseless debates.
Why dont our country learn from civilized and cultured country and understand how to Man manage each entity and ministry and solve problems not create problems, why their is no discipline in our daily lifes, after 60 years we are the most un cultured and in discipline country and we know to complain and counter complain and debate endlessly, Let us do some work and take corrective action, is the ministry sleeping, if he is not fit enough to run, let him resign and another competent person takes over and turns around the aviation sector for the better of employees and the public at large.

Sir it is not the lack of competency at the technical and operational level that is causing these problems. It is at the level of management and policy makers who bungle and try to put the blame on lower level colleagues projecting as if they are the trouble makers. I am not supporting Union culture, but the smooth functioning of any organization is possible when there is consultation mechanisms set at different levels to be coordinated by the Management. If sound and well balanced proposals are discussed threadbare before announcing decisions affecting the smooth functioning of the organization such a situation will not arise.
