Are women as fighter pilots a bad investment?

Are women as fighter pilots a bad investment?

The Indian Air Force (IAF) will have to wait for women to be fighter pilots. Vice-Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal P K Barbora, on Tuesday gave a statement, which suggests that women IAF officers must delay pregnancy if they want to become fighter pilots. Tell us what you think.

Think Barbora is correct and there is no chauvinism involved in this statement of his. Women do have limitations as stated by Barbora and a few other writers in this msg board.

Dear Sir
It DEPENDS

If a woman is not capable to offtake the load and take off for the job that requires her to do exuberantly, then obviously everything is bad

Thanks

In case of accidents where the piolet might need to eject in enemy territory (behind enemy lines), and if under such circumstances if the officer fails to escape, taken as prisoner, we never know how brutal the enemy is? We have seen it during kargil war when dead bodies were dilapidated, body parts cut deliberately. It's apparenty unequivocal how a "WOMEN PRISONER" will be taken care off. To put it explicitly, chances of molestation or even rape.

Given the physical limitations, I would agree Mr. Barbora. The real combat zone is certainly a diff mindset game. We must not rule out women being a fighter pilot but must have simulators to test the same on women and then take it forward.

I think I would fully agree with what the Vice Air Chief Marshal has opined. While women can perform 'most' of the duties of an Defence Officer, but not 'all'. There are areas other than direct combat zones where their services can be well utilized.

Basically women are 'emotional' by nature, there may be exceptions, but by and large most of them are. Emotional state of mind does not help in a combat zone, one needs to be ruthless if so required. Moreover even physical limitations are there. Lastly, I feel psychologically also its difficult for women to prepare themselves for a 'real combat' activity as could men.

I think Barbora statement make sense ........ as IAF fighters are for country's security no to Please any organisation ......... as we know to become commercial pilot we have to invest lumpsum .......when it comes to Fighter pilot it becomes double ot tripple of amount invested for becoming commercial pilo apart from that If any circumstances like 26 November happens ............at that time we cant give pregnancy leave to fighters ........... means a leave of approximately 6 Months
