The Question Hour in the Lok Sabha was cut short on Monday as MPs who had given notice to ask questions were not present in the House.

there r very few M.P's who take their role seriously. Many M.P's are frequently absent to the sessions without the prior permission of the speaker & without genuine reasons. At times when the majority of MP's are present, there is usually a dispute among the M.P's which leads to the walk - out of some M.P's.The indiscipline of some M.P's acts as an obstacle for the smooth running of the house.

some MPs are not serious about their duties and do not attend question hour.Action taken against them is not enough to make them responsible.

Apart from handful of MP's others don't understand and participate in any useful discussions, let alone play any constructive role in lawmaking. If not compelled by rules of Parliament, majority of the MP's will not attend a single session of Parliament.Hardly 100 odd MP's actively participate in the discussions, rest of the MP's rarely ever speak in the house.Politicians want to become a MP not to contribute any thing to the Parliament or country but only to amass money by any hook and crook, including crores of rupees as perks.

The answer is obvious. MP's and MLA's has replaced the gone era Maharajas and are there to enjoy life. Their main aim is to swindle and swindle and swindle. Irrespective of any party this is the state of affairs. Democracy in wrong hands.

Watching Parliamentary proceedings live on TV, it appears many of our MPs lack even basic etiquette and behave worse than nursery school students. There is frequent interruptions and adjournments. Even speaker's appeal/pleadings to the MPs to take their seats while a minister or somebody else is speaking only falls on deaf ears. So much of public money is wasted this way. When it comes to question hour, many of the seats are vacant. This shows how irresponsible our MPs are. This indeed makes one speculate that "cash-for-question" allegation which surfaced last year could be true.

There might be no use blaming or punishing those MPs.If anyone has to be punished for what ever the "crimes" those MPs have committed,it should be those who voted for those MPs.There is an old saying which says that one one gentle man gave his dog throne on which he sits "admiring" the dog's faith. But the dog ruined the throne by pissing on it and doing whatever the things he know.So our MPs also acting in the same manner. They dont know the significance and responsibility of the throne they have been asigned to.Its not their mistake. Its ours.Lets slap our face with our own cheppal.

This is really disappointing. But this does not mean that we should just watch these repeated episodes and express our angst. If the politicians are worthless, ao are we. Take the example of my M.P. I am from a very remote place in Assam. The communication part is something you would hate to talk about. The flight schedule is cancelled almost everyday. if you want to travel by bus, you have to go through Meghalaya, and that takes Twelve hours of zig-zag journey with a lot of ditches and holes on the way. There was a plan for the so called "Maha-Sadak" which could have decreased the journey time by half of what it takes now. But that will never be materialised. There are reasons for this too: illiteracy and lack of consciousness among people. The present M.P. has vanished after he won the election. I have never seen him in TV. I have never seen him in my district. People selected him because he was an honest person and a teacher (may be..!). but they did not realise that we don't need honest and mild person for the development. We need courageous, active and extrovert people for the development. I have a small club and my friends suggested that we should lodge a 'missing-F.I.R' for our M.P. in the local Police station...! (how funny....!) I think this can be done effectively by the concerned authority in the Parliament now. (No offence please)

Yes they do take their jobs very very seriously. Who can doubt their seriousness? What with large sums they have been taking for asking questions and raising issues in the Loksabha. And what does the 4000 odd crores amassed by our respected MP as discovered recently indicate? Those who are cribbing about MPs not taking their jobs seriously are living in fool's paradise.

To question being discussed here I would like to know "We very proudly say tht India is the largest democracy, but is it the best pattern of democracy to be practiced?" It is just good in books with a matter to be studied with a galaxy of loopholes in it.
Also would like to ask my fellow citizens, we especially in the days of economic meltdwn look out for a complete value for money each time we spend a penny on anything, then y is it tht hv a carefree attitude towards the TAX v pay. Tht is d reason d MP's dont take their job seriously.

forget about punishing kasab and other terrorists, because they come rarely and harm the people. but these politicians stay with us all the time posing as good men and do all the harm virtually unknown to any of the people. these politicians should be hanged before doing it for terrorists.
