No lesssons have been learnt. The Union govt is not at all interested to get te victims sufficent compebnsation even after 25 years of gas tragedy.Infact a court has reduced the compensation amount! and the govt is not objecting to it! .No effort has been made to get back Warren Anderson then Charman of Union Carbide.
The presnt govt seems to be least interested to do justice to the gas victims.
Perhaps there ar emany more such chemicalfactorieslike Union Carbide not folloing safety precautoins. Will govttake care to see that anothergas tragedy as the Bhopal tragedy would not occur again?.
Srikantiah.

What has our central government and state government done as of yet. Are not the people who gave sanctions for setting up Union Carbide factory equally guilty. The government should set up a commission and take steps to make the area around the Union Carbide factory safer at least for the future generations. Bhopal is not the only place in India where such chemical poisoning has taken place, I think your channel should also highlight the plight of the villagers of Kasaragode, victims of Endosulfan Poisoning. This Bhopal incident is not one of such incident in India. There are lots of factories operating around our country which is slowly poisoning the environment and the government has done nothing to close down such factories. We should stop pointing our fingers at others and see what we as a nation have done to prevent such disasters from happening. Are the chemical factories in India really following the safety norms. Are the people living around the chemical factories really safe???? Well, I am not really sure.

The Central or the State Government should take up the responsibility and clean up the site.
