Is the law lenient on politicians who won

Is the law lenient on politicians who won't vacate government houses?

TimePosted by IBNLive at 03:28 PM, Dec 06, 2009 in IBNPolitics

Congress leader Begum Noor Bano was last an MP in 2004, but she has kept her plush MP's flat in New Delhi for five years. Is the law too lenient on politicians? Tell us what do you think about it.

i don't think the law itself is lenient on politicians...i think the people who are supposed to take actions according to law are too lenient on them....They must have taken action against referred politician earlier...

Politicians in our country are supergods and they are above law. Who can dare to attempt to evict illegal occupants?

Without a doubt politicians exploit our archaic laws to their advantage. Juduciary has no teeth unfortunately. Would the common man be allowed to misuse government facilites like this, No way !!

Such corrupt politicians such be asked to pay the rent for overstaying at market rates definetly not at govt rates.

Indian Laws have always been lenient on politicians!.As an Indian i am ashamed of these irresponsibilities being committed. What is required is the strict enforcement of present laws...

In the matters of house allotments, and vacation etc the government always compromises. The rules have to be relaxed in many cases. That is why with all the sincerity, the govt cannot enforece the rule. In the present case Noorbano lost to Jayaprada in 04. She faught again in 09 and again lost. Thereafter she should have vacated the house in due course but I believe she will fight again in 2014 and might win also since the fate of Jayaprada may be uncertain due to infight within her party. I thank that govt should make a policy to construct 20 percent extra houses for MPs and after losing the election the MP should be allowed to retain his house for next 5 years if his party intends to field him again in the next election from the same constituency. MPs have to strive hard for 5 years to regain their seats and the state should cooperate with them with a view to attract better leaders for the parliament. This is a pragmatic solution to this problem. Thereafter the rules could be enforced strictly. Thanks.

Dear controller of IBN POLITICS-We are the law unto ourselves for the breaking these are framed. rigidity on the side of law makers to enjoy the pie must be regarded. How much they get into to reach and how could it be bileved that they lost it need some time may be another term for a chance to come back. Therefore you should read in between the paras where terrorist are the threat to them for mere safe bunglow. although they invite them in party to relish in the allotment. but never the less safe heaven has to be there for pity work in the heart of capital. My choice with no shame.

Is she a kid adamant of not leaving the house.
That house is for MP whom people elect.
Our punishment is so simple that makes law breakers careless.
