Real Heroes is an annual felicitation that recognises the triumph of the human spirit. In its third year in 2010, this initiative will honour the real-life heroes in our society who have worked selflessly to make a difference and serve a cause, in their own inimitable way, thereby setting a precedence several hundreds could follow. Suggest such real-life heroes around you, join the conversation. For more log onto http://www.cnnibnrealheroes.com

My real Hero is Capt Vikram Batra,Baba amte.I also remember
reading a story of a Muslim boy,many years ago who,in a Fire
in Meerut, saved 14 other children but died in the process. The
Tragedy in India is that the heroes are given one time recognized only in Media stories, but the Establishment only
does lip sympathy.I am afraid our future generations will look
down upon us as we have not left any real role models to look
upto.

The real heroes are police personnel who perform duty in extreme adverse conditions, work under severe stress, political and superior's pressure.Their salary is meagre and no basic facilities available at work place. They work with integrity agaianst all odds. They need recognition and support. SUNIL AHUJA, JAIPUR

real like heroes are often the unsung ones.any common man is contributes to the building of the nation.the service rendered by a teacher in his/her lifetime is no less.we should treat teachers with more dignity & respect.for me it is teachers who taught me & all of us "a for apple b for ball...".

My real hero is Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam. Look at the profile of this man. Scientist,DRDO Chief, advisor to the PM,President.... after all this, he considers himself a teacher and relentlessly continues his good work of inspiring the people and creating enlightened leaders. I know of a former President, who demanded a house to be allotted to him chennai after retirement inspite of him having his own house. In contrast, This man APJ, moves around in whatever he can and we recently read about him quietly travelling economy class to Vhuvaneshwar. This real hero of mine will certainly create atleast a few thousand world class enlightened leaders in the next few years. It will have its positive impact on our country.

Need of the hour is renaissance in civil service, police, politics or election departments.

Now from dark and inferior outlook of a state, things are changing and marching towards summit of developments. I would appreciate the work of Nitish Kumar for his performance as a Bihar Chief Minister and standing as trend setter for others.

I would wish him best success in near future with companies of selfish-less corruptfree scholars, scientists, good administrators decorating his cabinet to service the people of Bihar.

In the same way Modi is also doing, but his thoughts are more saffron principle.

What if I call my self as the real Hero. I think nothing wrong in saying this. But who knows me, just thousands of people. But why only such number knows me because I might not grabbed the opportunity whenever I got or I am still waiting for such opportunity. So who ever got such opportunity and utilized them very much efficiently are real heroes. Because its injustice to name some few peoples. Because the people whom we know are masters in their respective field. They went in different directions according to their interest, so whether its honourable Prime Minister, an army general, a sports person or from bollywood or a scientist from DRDO or ISRO.
