Oh Terry toh! | Read blog

By now, John Terry is no longer relegated to innocuous headlines. The man, after all, has lost his job. Terry, over the past week, has

And, over all this verborrhea, you passed over an important point. The guy makes use of his Mr. Clean image for his endorsements. Indiscretions in personal life are fine , but trying to hush them up, and playing Mr. Clean to milk the public for endorsement money is not. The image matters for endorsements,as we say with Woods. Why then try to create a 'holier than what I actually am' image? Terry seems to bother about this false image, because the possible ruination of his image was the grounds upon which he sought the court injunction.

Poor journalism, I have to say.

First get your facts right. Terry didn't lose his job. His still plays for Chelsea and England as first choice in his position. He was only stripped from his captaincy of the national team, which is not his 'job' as he is not paid anything extra for that. In fact, if you have any experience with football as a viewer or as a player, you would understand than being the national football captain doesn't amount to much. A good football team usually has five, six or more captains on the pitch. The official captain gets to wear the armband, that is all. Changing the captain isn't a big deal.

And how do you know the model is too hot to handle? Know her on a personal basis? You have to be more objective and responsible on a newsblog.

The article raises a lot of pointless questions the answers to many of which are obvious. The whole world knows that Terry was stripped of his captaincy not because Capello cares how much players should be faithful to their wives, but because he believes that you can't stab your teammate from behind even in personal life when you are captain of the team. That message was straightforward and clear. Pity you failed to get it inspite of being a journo who cared to blog on it.

Good Article!! Agree what he does in his personal life should not be a concern of anyone until it is gonna affect the people working around you. He is the captain of the England team and he had a relationship with ex-wife of his best friend's and who is also his team mate. So he losing his captaincy is the right decision as he has lost the trust and respect from his teammates. When you are such a high profile celebrity you should be aware of your action. If you revel in all the fame and fan following then you should also be ready to scrutinize by the same people for your action.

A good article worth to ponder upon and to retrospect. "You are thief, once you are caught" Thats what unfortunately has happened for John Terry.
I would like to raise certain points here -
1) Are the other sports personalities (including our reverred cricketers) angels or what ?
2) Or other English football players or worth any players do not have there own dirty laundry to wash ?
3) I have heard that in Mumbai, escorts services are being availed by not only by our ministers and other corporate honchos, but even Media big wigs as well...
Is it not an irony then, these are the same people, who are reporting these things sarcastically...

Leave the personal lives of people alone.

Current Rating:

Good article. Us humans have a very perverse habit of judging others and we derive huge pleasure in doing that. Remember the DPS MMS. Everyone who watched the MMS watched it for a different reason but in public everyone talked about the morals or rather the lack of it.
99.9% of the people who are talking against Terry, would jump and grab onto any such opportunity... unfortunately not many would drool over them and hence they would take a higher moral ground.
As a player he is great I don't give much if what he does in his bedroom. Unless he is exploiting the ladies or raping.. why would I care.

WOW!! awesome!! its sooo gud to see a WOMAN being realistic on this issue and recognising tht just cos terry cheated, doesnt make him an animal fit to be slaughtered. I wld be soo happy if people like u were heading r feminist orgs like the NCW. we need realists and fair woman to be heading such important orgs rather than the divorced and frustrated militant feminists who currently lead these institutions!!

RESPECT!!

Why don't we r his leave Terry alone? I am a Chelsea follower and i love Terry for his defending skills and his motivation on the football field. As long as he is giving 100% on the football ground i am happy. I am not concerned about his other performances.

It feels nice after reading your view about Terry. Apart from that we face a truth in our daily life that people who are public figure, they should behave properly. We see that lots of people who are playng they have their own private life and we should not be concerned about them, about what they are doing in their private life. Its not about giving a second chance to Terry, its about Some basic thing like having a good character. People who are public figures, they are supposed to behave in a bit intelligently and morally right way. I personally feel that Terry must be given a chance.

Terry plays for Chelsea a club which is a darling of the Rich and Posh ppl in London though he himself comes from "Barking", a part of East London which is home to a lot of rowdy and hooligan type fans. All i can say is unlike Chelsea ppl who also engage in such acts but are good at keeping them under the carpet, Terry could not help that he came from East London and sort of proved that though he plays for Chelsea, his roots will not leave him.
