Team India loses first Test under Dhoni. Discuss

Team India's first Test loss under Mahendra Singh Dhoni has, once again, set tongues wagging. Critics and keen watchers of the game have been discussing threadbare about the team selection, line-up etc. This loss has also put India's Test position at stake. As South Africa outplayed India at the Nagpur Test, the absence of Dravid and Laxman was felt strongly. What do you feel about Team India's test loss?

Right team selection is the main key for initiating success. Every team goes to play with a plan. In this case the planning was not good in terms of team selection. Why were newcomers not selected for Srilanka/Bangladesh tour instead of mighty South Africans. In this series we needed to show our sharpest weapon but selectors chose to hide them.

I am not saying that if team was right we could have won but if initial plan was right and we had surely showed better cricket.

What could Dhoni do if his hands were tied. This is his first loss which can be tolerated but is also big loss as we lost to South Africa in a big way.

Let us hope we win next match to save crown or atleast expect a draw so that crown remains a bit longer.

We lost a Test after a long time so we should not read too much into it. The team was suddenly faced with too many changes and it will stabilise. We did not get a good start in both innings. We should take the loss sportingly and that too to a stong team like South Africa. Australia lost the Ashes but are now winning game after game in all formats. So cheer up! Our aim should be to win the next Test.

Not because we lost the way we did...The Indian Cricket Team has always survived on individual performances. The only thing we do consistently as a team is TO FAIL !! On a realistic platform, the only team we definitely are ahead of are, Bangladesh (they too have beaten us), Kenya (here too), Canada, Ireland (well...). Let us not get carried away and compare ourselves to giants like Australia, South Africa and die hard teams like Pakistan, England, West Indies and New Zealand. We have a set of great poster boys and advertisment savy cricketers. Wwith Dravid fading away, Saurav gone and Tendulkar in not a position to continue too long, its time for serious introspection. Viru and Dhoni are the only long term bets. Zaheer loses on fitness and Harbhajan on consistency. The rest are new crop by an large. Yuvraj has been an over rated player always.

selectors Please axe Harbhajan singh from ICT he doesn't deserve the place and he has not proved a bit in the recent series. Then why keep him and sack those like tyagi who just served drinks. Sacking players without experimenting is terrible. Moreover many pitches used in First-Class cricket are like Roads, runs just flowing which is demoralizing the bowlers.One-billion population nation could not groom another Kumble, kapil.Top 5 Batsmen plus MSD were the biggest reason for india's recent 5 series victories.

I dont think it's a good idea to give a chance to the new comers while playing a test match with the worlds no.2 team south africa.Missing dravid, laxman, yuvraj for this tour is one of the strongest point that makes differnce in the play.i expect there may be a good results in the next match and all the best for indian team.

Current Rating:

Indians are one of the best in the world and not only best.
Continuous poor performance alone can be taken as an issue

I am sad as an Indian that my country has lost but kind of feel happy that Dhoni has tasted defeat. He doesn't deserve to be Indian captain.A man deeply rooted in superstitions who performs sacrifice of innocent animals before God for his luck, would serve as a very bad role model for India's youth.

i belive this loss aginst south africa will be a lesson for the team selection, who selected a team without back up for the
batsman. selection panel to be blame for this.i hope this wo'nt happen in future. India will bounce back and will retain the no 1 spot.
