Corrupt Judge Shamit Mukerjee of Delhi High court was caught in 2003, till today even charges have not been framed. He has being protected by his brother judges in Delhi High court who grant him stay of proceedings. In 2006 when the case came for hearing the Addl Distt Judge was transfered by the High court, and till today the case did not come for hearing.Politicians have corrupted every one even the judges of Supreme court and high courts.A common man has no faith either in Govt or in judiciary.

When will we see Legal Reforms ? It's time we introduced the same and fixed times for disposal of a case. Or else Justice will be delayed & also denied to the common people as is the case now. Without the media along with NGOs & people following up this case would not have been what it is today. The ordinary citizen has little faith left in the Judiciary.

If we want rule of law to be upheld like other leading Nations of the developed World we need to Usher in Reforms at the earliest.

Hope the media keeps a watchful eye on him - life should mean life and Ms. Sheila Dikshit should not give him the benefit of parole again.

Finally justice prevails but it took 11 years to punish him.which is very disgraceful and shows the tardiness of our judiciary system.it"s not the only case where culprit gets the punishment after such a long time.many more cases are still pending and waiting for justice.we should also thank the electronic and print media for keeping jessica alive between us.it's a dimwitted case of mockery of judiciary which took 11 years to give a decision.

Surely this has been a welcome verdict by the SC. But it would have been better if it could have come a little earlier. The HC had announced life sentence for Manu Sharma in 2006 but it took 3 years for the SC to uphold the sentence. That is pretty long i guess. The SC has to speed up the process. Anyways better late than never!!!

Hardly satisfied keeping in mind the number of people who are denied / delayed justice as they are not wealthy. Justice delayed is justice denied. When will we improve the justice delivery system ? When will we bring in Judicial Reform ?

This case & some others got justice only because of publicity and the peoples movement, triggered by the media.

Our people, press / media / NGOs etc. should work in unison for the Judicial Reform as they did for "Right to Information" Act.

What is most satisfying is the fact that his corrupt, power-wielding father couldn't save him!!! Hope in future we won't have to wait for so long to see justice being done to rich and powerful people.
