Lalit Modi is suspended from BCCI for six months. During that period an interim panel will manage the IPL.

as an administrator for sports, he has done what needs 2 be done to keep it profitable. his crimes trival, and perish in front of
what our honourable politicians and netas publicly execute...the same ppl who are now pointing their fingers at him. modi\'s fault
has been in not keeping in line with the power center, that is indian politics, instead concentrating on 2 much show of the IPL\'s
power which would definitely get a lot of people jealous. For a kind reminder to the BCCI back benchers and netas, if it haden\'t been
for people like Modi, cricket would have turned into a hockey, kabaddi saga of mismanagement and loss. It is more shameful when the players of
our national sport have to fight for their salaries, than to know that some businessman made a profit on the sports he promotes.

I hold no brief for Lalit Modi - or \'Saala Slimeball\' the affectionate nickname given to him by the FIP. Lets try and look at the so called charges that the BCCI has put forward.

1. Rigging bids in aborted round of bidding for two new teams
There have been cases where teams in the English Premier League have been sold to 4 different owners (during the course of a single season). This has lead to demands for more stringent norms for team owners by the FA. As the IPL Commissioner, LKM had the fiduciary duty to protect the brand of the IPL and ensure that the biggest guys come forward to purchase teams. The 100 year old EPL can deal with shady owners (hello Kochi!) but not a fledgling 3 year old league.
2. Encouraging, attempting collusive bidding
Serious allegation. If this is about the first round of auctions - why was the BCCI silent till now? Anyways, the BCCI needs to provide proof of this to the public!
3. Unexplained million facilitation fee about which BCCI was kept in dark
This was a part of a renegotiated contract with MSM. MSM would double (cant be bothered to look up the actual amount)the amount that would be paid for the broadcast rights - amount that ends with with the teams/BCCI and is supposed to be used for the benefit of the game/players. And why would I bribe a taxman who is trying to double the amount of tax I am going to pay - makes no sense prima facie.
4. Arm-twisting successful bidder, Kochi, to withdraw
Kochi should prove the allegation. As mentioned above, the IPL Commissioner had the duty to ensure that the team owners have the capability (organisational and monetary) to take the team forward!

Dear Sir

The charges by him against the others, and the counter charges will be another round of the I P L excitement

This had to happen, Iam only surprised that this has happened now, after three years

Cricket after the 1998 match fixing incident and now with these so called TAMASHA, has gone to the stinks.

Only some odds with the habits of getting fine everyday with the stinks would rise with cricket, especially Indian cricket which is now dead, else nobody ever will enjoy cricket which was worth its salt.

Every blessed things comes to an end and cricket is slowly its way end

Thanks

No fool will believe that Modi alone is responsible for all the charges levelled and no one is in collusion with him. It is only a game plan to isolate him when many skeltons started to fall from the cupboard. He is not the one who takes it lying down. When he retaliates, there are so many whose face will be tarnished with tar of malpractices. Wait and watch.
