The UPA govt is on the backfoot as it seeks to secure support of the allies ahead of a cut motion in Parliament.

Previously also many governments might have done phone tapping. This is not new.

Biotechnology regulatory authority of India bill is cleared by the cabinet and now to be tabled in Parliament. UPA is keen to pass that bill in the current budget session. It is a draconian bill and may ruin the agriculture in India. American corporates are trying to making inroads to capture the indian agriculture. Mansanto's BT cotton case is before everybody. It has ruined the farmers and forced many of them to commit suicide. Same is the case with BT Bringal. So the giant Monsanto is facing protests. Now this bill will protect the intrest of Monsanto and alike corporates. As one section of the bill says " whowever, without any evidence of scientific record mislead the public about the safety of organism and products...shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which shall not be less than six months but which may extend to one year and with fine which may extend to two lakh rupees or with both." Illiterate farmers of India, if suffer from the GM seeds like BT Cotton, will not be able to say anything agaisnt . And if ilt is opposed by anti-GM groups, pertaions to clinical trials of genetically modified organism, in such case the bill states that" whoever , himself or by any other person on his behalf, conducat clinical trials with organism or products... shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which shall not be less than five years but which may extend to ten years and with a fine which may extnd to ten lakh rupees or both." So why the UPA government is selling the interests of Indian agriculture. This is the assault of nep-liberlization on Indian agriculture. Since 1997 more than two lakh farmers committed suicide till now in the First Green Revolution. Now with GM seeds this is Second Green Revolution. So what sort of fate we are going to meet .

The Union budget already is exacting the maximum from our poor and cushioning our rich, coupled with this, we dont need deterring decrees on paper. you blood sucking morons, do you realise that you're crippling and killing the very hand that feeds us, is India to be called an agri-based economy anymore. Stop fooling young kids with such thriving images and honorary essays on textbooks, thats not the real story. If we are to talk about agriculture in our social science texts, it better be an elaborate coverage of Vidarbha and the like.

This current Man Mohan government has no control on any of the burning issues !

They are protecting all scamsters for obvious reasons....

If the government is hoping for a good monsoon and the inflation will come down as a result of that, they are fooling the voters AND ALSO FOOLING THEMSELVES !

This government lacks spine and tends to run away from issues !

How can Manmohan govt be blammed directly yes he is renowned economist but it doesn's mean that economy of our country should be really good and more over business issues are something which relate to lot of people govt alone can't do nothing.
Instead of blaming try giving some remedies that u think should be done or can solve the issue

the governors of the states are puppies to central government...they have not even spared the presidential post, which was once most deserved by late mr bhairav singh.
the cbi has become congress bureau of investigation.

the only two person which in my opinion ,have some credibility in this government are jairam ramesh and chidambaram..who more than congressmen seem to be outsiders.

Wide balls give an additional RUN and a ball. The wickets will fall even by RUN OUTS, HIT THE WICKET, STUMPING etc.

UPA is obviously very insecure and if you look at their track record over the past one year it has been a string of non achievements. Whatever they have attempted has bombed right from the Womens Reservation Bill to the Nuclear Liability Bill and the RTE. Nothing has come out of any of these. Prices continue to rise unabated, the govt seems help less to stem the inflation and the Maoists are enjoying a free run. Pakistn contunues to thum its nose at us. Strictly speaking it has been a disastrous year for the UPA -

This is simply intolerable. The FM and HM and agri M are all wasting time on IPL, while terror funding, sleeper cells and farmer suicides have no takers. Add to this unholy mess, uncontrolled price rise and rising decibels of cong party spokespersons and the mess is complete. It is always a mistake to vote for congress, because they have only one agenda, cover up the family on all issues, family take credit for all good, gov\'t and ms take all the failures.

Something is terribly wrong with UPA-2. There is no real will to focus on serious issues. Rather they have been indulging in killing opposition within and outside. But surprisingly went soft on Mayawati last week.
They continue to be a failure in tackling the naxals, terrorism and price rise. But 2 senior ministers were asked to look into IPL. This is simply not right. This is NOT expected from a elected government.
It is high time that Manmohan regains control on things, the way things were in UPA-1

@ majjiraj,

UPA 1 was worst as well. In the coalition politics any majority party in it should be a master in pushing reforms but UPA 1 has mastered in staying in power without doing nothing. Thanks to media that we are seeing UPA 2 now.

No, there were some solid ministers in UPA-1 and some solid ministers now too - Chidambaram has brought in almost clinical efficiency into home ministry (he earlier did a great job as Fin min in UPA-1).... Kamal Nath is doing a very good job at building infrastructure... Nilekani is doing a great job at building consensus between diferent dept in implementing the UID (which was a scheme initiated by NDA - so dont oppose it now just because BJP is in opposition).

But I also agree that there has been some dents in parts of UPA that has a public face (like IPL, for example, dented its image while not getting the list of defaulters from Swiss Banks is overlooked by both BJP and Cong).

Do you know how chidambaram kept on winning his elections..solid example 2009 on the day of results announced it was announced that he lost, suddenly next day the newspapers and news say chidambaram won.... this is the quality of chidambaram... he talks well to cover his fist... nothing solid he has to do..

Very aptly put. UPA 2 is not at all acting. Only beating about the bush in all important matters.

This is not what Indians expect more so who have voted this Govt. to power. What a great let down ? Most of us had great expectations from Dr. Singh. High time the opposition forced the Govt. to act or else maybe the people will.

Jai Hind !! Bande Maataram !!

Some how , UPA 2 appears lost its vision ,drive and determination ,may be the weakening of NDA keeps the govt laid back or sure of their vote catching tacticts with Aam Admi -slogan. But this is leading the country towards anarchy . Unless the govt takes measures to alieniate the people from seperatists and anti-nationals in J&K ; AND also the tribals from Maoists who are anti democratic by their ideology , the progress and development which requires peace in the country will suffer and a vicious cycle starts . If this happens along with the tremendous corruption - future looks very gloomy and bloody.

I totally agree with you all. As citizens of this country we have to teach them a lesson.

We should not vote corrupt politicians. How do we know whether he is corrupt or not?. Media ppl know everything, but they don't reveal. They should mention the assets and the cases of the contestant contesting the election rather than concentrating on caste and religion. We must vote the right candidate irrespective of religion and cast. Only then honest people will join politics and bring about change.

If we change, they will change.

We have campaigned to save tiger. Have we ever campaigned to vote out corrupt politicians?
No, we haven't. This has to change, people should react and campaign against them on the internet - that will garner media attention and in-turn pressurize parties to remove them.

Jai Hind!
