Will the spat between Mani Shankar Aiyar and Kalmadi affect the Commonwealth Games?

TimePosted by IBNLive at 04:55 PM, Jul 27, 2010 | Updated at 04:57 PM, Jul 27, 2010 in IBNPolitics

Former Union Sports Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar took on Commonwealth Games Federation Chairman Suresh Kalmadi with his comment that he'd would be unhappy if the Commonwealth Games were successful. Aiyar, a Congress MP from Rajya Sabha, said that the funds spent for the October 3-14 Games could have been utilised for ensuring a better sporting future for Indian youth by providing them sports training. Do you think the spat between the two will affect the Games?

Dear Sir

First- I WOULD REQUEST THE NATION TO EXCUSE AND PARDON Mr AIYER FOR HIS REPEATED NONSENSICAL WORDS

He does it and ho does every stupid things, like kicking etc.....only to remain in the news !!!!!

Lastly- these spate of spats etc are very common when you see some major event being hold by India.Unless and until there is a controversy,India will never be recognized as India

Aiyer has developed a habit of saying something and doing something which makes the people to wonder about his sense

IT MAY NOT AFFECT THE GAMES AS SUCH BUT THINK OF THE IMAGE WE ARE PROJECTING TO THE OTHER COUNTRIES.
SIMPLY SPENDING MONEY WILL NOT ENSURE MEDALS. THERE SHOULD BE TALENT AND A REAL DESIRE TO SUCCEED AT HIGHER LEVELS .HOW MUCH SUPPORT DID SAINA GET BEFORE SHE BECAME A CHAMPION . SO MUCH MONEY IS SPENT ON CRICKET AND LOOK AT OUR PERFORMANCE IN SRILANKA AND IN THE WORLD CUPS .

Dear vaidya.keshav

Mr Tharoor that way is far better than most of the peers of the Congress

Unfortunately- his ideas are anti Congress as Congress has a differnt way to think and Mr Tharror was differnt in his thought

Mate,
So you agree that there is no way of others surviving in cong if there is difference of opinion and that too if they have should not be expressed thus stifled? Then where is democracy?

I have for long been a congress supporter.. but ever since they shamelessly gave an election ticket for Mohd.Azharuddin, a person guilty of match-fixing who holds a life-ban on cricket, i was totally shocked.. what was more shocking was the fact that none of the so-called "24/7 news channels" had the courage to question this shameful act of congress.. wonder what held them from doing so..!
