Is AR Rahman's anthem for the Commonwealth Games worth Rs 5 crore?

The Group of Ministers on the Commonwealth Games has finalised Oscar winner AR Rahman's Swagatham as the theme song for the mega event. The song was launched by Rahman and the chairman of the organising committee Suresh Kalmadi.

He is sulking during the whole song. It seems like gravity is pulling down him to the earth. It is just silly. No spark to it at all. He has been hyped up by the media just because of the oscar he got. It doesn't mean he needs to be thrown away. But he is hyped up.

Here we go again, From the day one of CWG it is in news wether it is India hosting the games or the corruption that is associated with it...so i think it stays in the news till the end whether for good or bad resons..

The anthem of CWG created by a r rahman, was a great work from the master. I dont know whether it is rite to question a person's reward(wages) for his work.. if they wanted to do the same in some less amount they could have gone for some other musician..

But looking forward for a better Common wealth games....

Probably not, you know why, if a toilet paper roll can cost 4000 Ruppes then theme songe being 5 crore is ok...

It is too much. Kalmadi really wasted lot of money on every thing this is no exception. They should have given this money to poor and get some other person to get the theme song.

I am not questioning Rahman's talent.But with due respect to him the anthem does not deserve Rs. 5 crore.
Some feel that the anthem is not inspiring.
